That moment you wished you lived in germany with there incredible gothic scenes and music this band tops on my fav list there songs never get old and love seeing them progress through the years Chris Pohl is a beast at singing he just draws you in with the tone in his voice and that look in his eyes such a heart throb!
Where are you from? We have more than just goth sub cultures but I agree that in Germany people generally just don't give as many damns and don't raise their eyebrows constantly if you dress the way you like or do what you love, whatever it might be.

Im from the uk we have some fesivals but nothing as big as germany such as mer luna ect ^^
uk is strange. I remember there was a massive divide between sub cultures when I was younger. goths rarely talked to emo and bother goths and emo hated scenies. then there were hang ons and we all sat in our specific groups on the same patch of grass in town. Wether it was because we were kids I don't know. but I find in the UK people don't talk to each other anyway. with the exception of certain communities like bikers. doesn't matter who, what you dress like, what music you like or where you're from, bikers 99% of the time always talk to bikers regardless of the style you ride. I haven't found that solidarity many other places, pagans usually stick together regardless of which forms you celebrate.
that think about bikers made me laugh a lot XD and yeah, we have this massive divide here on brazil too, but i think it goes only for more alternative people

I was born in a strict Catholic family, and I listen to the Gregorians everyday and night for years...BUT...I dared to watch this, never heard of Blutengel before ever in my life...And I LIKE IT !!!! oh boy my family would probably disown me if they knew !! HAhaha on them.....I like this group...I don't know why tho...theres just something very interesting and he sings very well, great voice...Im checking out the Morning star video next, and the Lucifer video...I can't believe I'm liking him !!!!

This past May I had tickets to see BlutEngel live in Mannheim. Plans changed and I drove to Munich instead. I have been living in Germany for five years but only became enamored with BlutEngel last September. I write a lot of gothic, vampire and dark poetry and touch upon many of the same themes as Chris Bohl. The last rock band that left me this mesmerized and obsessed over their music is The Doors. I have a second chance to see B.E. at a venue in Stuttgart in November and I will not miss them this time!! In December I have tickets to H.I.M.'s farewell tour. The Vampyre Poet

This songs been stuck in my head for a while but this video is actually really impressive. One of the few industrial music videos that actually has any connection to the subject being sung about.
My interpretation is that the ballerina represents some innocent childhood till some scarring event happens and she keeps trying to ignore what had happened until it finally imprisons her... but then she finds that embracing whatever it is and just moving on, is liberating. I love it.
In other words... don't let your past define you. Be what you want to be.
My interpretation: she was afraid of being vulnerable. She embraced pain.
One can´t be free if she's constantly afraid something will hurt her (the tree-ladies stopped her ability to dance spontaneously). When she got covered with blue paint, in this moment she let herself be vulnerable and hurt (being hurt = stain; whiteness = not being hurt,; when you wear white clothes, you want to protect its whiteness at all costs). She survived and realised that she can still function while being vulnerable (as a new person in dirty clothes, yet look there's beauty in it still, she's not depicted as deplorable or evil, but more like natural), thus she now moves freely among the obstacles (tree-ladies) exploring the world anew instead of avoiding the spikes.
what does it have to do with the past: negative past experiences close you to new ones in such a way that from now on you continually want to avoid these bad experience happen to you again, so you avoid pain and vulnerability.
