Informative indeed..... One simple question AFTER how much duration in terms of time required to replace the lubricants if vehicle isn't driven for defined/ prescribed milage? How quality varies in various brands n which is the best graded engine oil brand internationally? What effect would it have if oil filter used is not of complementing quality to oil? Should oil be replaced earlier than OEM recommended milage? Ceramic coating n various other means available to protect the paint if be explained with its afficacy n prudency vis a vis the expenses incurred..... Regards
Good. Also like to share, I watched Japanese auto engineers recommendations. He said it's better to change more frequently with cheaper oil rather than using high mileage oil. And FILTER.. use it twice.. You missed that item oil Filters
My experience - Use your car manufacturer's engine oil. They are best for your vehicle. I always use Suzuki's engine oil in my Cultus and it keeps the engine in prestige condition.

If you have new corolla, their engines has tendency to lower lube level and it’s due to the design of that engine, check the website toyota says that on every 1000 miles the lube reduction is 1 qt…
If recommended oil grade is used from starting in a car then it will not consume oil, many people use wrong oil grade which destroys engine and then the engine starts to consume/burn oil. If the car consumes/burn oil about 500ml or 1000ml in 5k kms change interval it is normal don't switch to thick grades. Always drain oil from drain bolt don't use extractors for oil change and use Genuine oil filter and replace it while replacing oil. Using cheap oil filters and replacing it early will also damage the engines. Change oil at every 5k kms with Genuine oil filter.

You should only opt this for bikes not for cars. Because bike engines are air cooled so it needs thick oil in summers and needs thin oil for winters. But for cars only use the oil which is recommended in owners manual if its thick or thin use it and for summers or winters in car you don't have to change oil grades. In Pakistan 0W-20 can be easily used in summers and winters.

I use Castrol Megnatech engine oil 10W -40 for my LC Prado since 8 years now and change at 5000 kms or once a year. Even if your car isn’t driven, you are advised to change oil after one year.

He say that is bad for car.. so put 5w-20 or any other.. 2nd) I follow toyota guidelines that you should change after 10k kms.. btw they say change it after 10000 miles because engine works 50 percent of the time and car is at Ev mode 50 percent of the time.. what you say about that.

Toyota 2NZ and 1NZ are high oil consumption engines and Toyota its self claims this. No matter if you use any oil in it. Please make some program on engines with relevance to oils
No 1NZ and 2NZ don't have any oil consumption issues if you use recommended oil grade from starting. Oil consumption is normal but excessive oil consumption is not normal. If the car consumes 500ml to 1000ml in 5k kms change interval it is normal. I have 2 cars with 1NZ-FE engine both are at same mileage 240k + kms and one consumes oil the other doesn't because in one I was using thick oil with copy filter and in other I was using recommended oil grade with Genuine filter. So now I am using recommended oil grade in both cars and the one that was consuming oil is still consuming I am using 10W-30 in it and it is consuming about 1000ml in 5k kms change interval which is normal.

AoA, I just visited Toyota workshop for oil change of my vitz 2010 second generation. Milage was 106200 when I bought it. Service advisor recommended me to pure 20w50 instead of any other grades. Sunil bhi kindly suggest is it recommended or should I change it to any other grades? Or is it possible now to change the grade now? Total driven after oil change is 5000 km. Thanks
1KR-FE engine k liya 20W50 to grease ha bhai why do you even listen to those fools at Toyota gari oil kum karti ho to phir maximum thickest viscosity recommended for modren engines especially a 1KR-FE is 15W40.20W50 will destroy your engine even sooner
No need to change the grade unless you live in a colder region. The grade that your vehicle service advisor has recommended is perfect for this region (given the average temperature here ranges from 0 to 45 degree Celsius. The oil he recommended is good for temperature range from -10C to 50C)
@@FB6K24Z7 Nope, you're wrong here. 15W40 isn't ideal for our climate, 20W50 is given how high the temperatures climb during the summer season. If the lubricant gets too thin during summer, it will fail to lubricate the engine properly, causing premature wearing of engine parts due to excessive heat. 15W40 is suitable for temperature range -20 to 40 Celsius. 20W50 is suitable for temperature range -15 to 50 Celsius.
I didn't know about shell lubricants but one thing I can say with 100 percent confidence that shell petrol is worst among all.

Always change oil filter no point reusing it. In fact even fully synthetic engine oils can easily last 10k city 15k motorway

I your engine is losing oil then their might be a problem that oil is burning in combustion Chamber if your car is giving white smoke.

I follow toyota guidelines that you should change after 10k kms.. btw they say change it after 10000 miles because engine works 50 percent of the time and car is at Ev mode 50 percent of the time.. what you say about that.

No 1NZ and 2NZ don't have any oil consumption issues if you use recommended oil grade from starting. Oil consumption is normal but excessive oil consumption is not normal. If the car consumes 500ml to 1000ml in 5k kms change interval it is normal. I have 2 cars with 1NZ-FE engine both are at same mileage 240k + kms and one consumes oil the other doesn't because in one I was using thick oil with copy filter and in other I was using recommended oil grade with Genuine filter. So now I am using recommended oil grade in both cars and the one that was consuming oil is still consuming I am using 10W-30 in it and it is consuming about 1000ml in 5k kms change interval which is normal.

Or Toyota ki gari may Toyota Indus motor se jo book ati hay usmay recommended grade likha hota hay or wohi use karna chayay. 5W-50 bohat thick oil hay or kilometers ka oil grade se koi taluq nai hay 500,000 bhi gari chal jaye phr bhi recommended oil grade use ho skta hay. Thick oil dalnay se engine kharab hota hay.

AoA, I just visited Toyota workshop for oil change of my vitz 2010 second generation. Milage was 106200 when I bought it. Service advisor recommended me to pure 20w50 instead of any other grades. Sunil bhi kindly suggest is it recommended or should I change it to any other grades? Or is it possible now to change the grade now? Total driven after oil change is 5000 km.

No need to change the grade unless you live in a colder region. The grade that your vehicle service advisor has recommended is perfect for this region (given the average temperature here ranges from 0 to 45 degree Celsius. The oil he recommended is good for temperature range from -10C to 50C)

@@FB6K24Z7 Nope, you're wrong here. 15W40 isn't ideal for our climate, 20W50 is given how high the temperatures climb during the summer season. If the lubricant gets too thin during summer, it will fail to lubricate the engine properly, causing premature wearing of engine parts due to excessive heat.
15W40 is suitable for temperature range -20 to 40 Celsius.
20W50 is suitable for temperature range -15 to 50 Celsius.
