It was about time someone had made a video about this and I wholeheartedly agree, the Roblox UNDERTALE scene has been really on the rocks lately and it’s admittedly been dry on fresh content that may keep a TH-camr away from wanting to do content on this stuff especially because most UT Roblox games are mostly the same. It’s reasonable for TH-camrs to move on after completing everything a game has to offer and then move on until another small content patch rolls around, stuff like ULC and UJD TH-cam content aren’t nearly as prevalent as they were back then when their respective major updates would roll out. I feel like the best way to summarize Roblox undertale’s issue is this: 1) people are getting older, these same kids who were devs for your favorite game are now in high school or college, so they either want to stop or they don’t have the time 2) undertale content hasn’t been improving, (which isn’t entirely true, the svc genre has definitely done wonders) but games like Undertale: Remnants of the multiverse, where the developer has been using the same attacks, abilities, no improvement in site, it’s killing the game, if the world is advancing quicker than ever, so should these games 3) I think it’s same to say the community has seen everything, the genres, the games, the showcases (which there are too many off) the variety in these games are pretty low, using the same characters, badges, events. What sucks is that games that actually either are an exception in quality or have great variety (once again svc games are an exception) are usually the games that die off or are never shown
Sadly I have to agree Almost all of ut roblox games are repetitive like svc, soul ops, smb type games shits which makes utr community boring. Utr community haven't got any new games recently with whole new mechanics and not just sanses and charas fighting till their death. And tbh there are only very few games that has unique mechanics like alternate battlegrounds and utpr which is an actual pvp game and not a game that would waste your time on afking, killing the same bosses over and over again just to encounter a secret boss to die with, and ganging sans with 5 charas
completely agree with every point in this video. i've been in the utr content creation genre for a little over 6 months now and it is one of the most bland, boring things to do. ever. the reason for that? everything is the same. soul ops games, utmm kit games, svc's, the list goes on. nobody is original, and games that ARE original get no players, so the devs stop updating and the cycle continues. me personally, i'm thinking of switching my main focus of content to something like deepwoken or tsb because hoooooly hell this genre of games is so dry.
As a youtuber who's original purpose of making the channel was to bring underrated UT games to light, I agree with all these things. I still believe that there can be a uprise of new things again but for now, we are in a sort of great depression for UT Robox games.
as another utr content creator, i've already been struggling getting content because theres NOTHING to make videos on. Soul ops games have almost completely fallen off. SOBRE has less than 50 active players and no updates, and soul ops 2 is averaging around 300 players at most. This leaves a void in my content because i've been mainly making content on soul ops games for a year or 2. As for SVC, UJD has pretty much become irrelevant. The only time i can get anything out of that game is events. ULC is getting SOME updates at least such as the real knife rework, but nothing big. Right now i have to rely on UFS for content because it's new, gets views, and has pretty consistent updates. There's a couple of really interesting games but they get overshadowed by other games and eventually stop being updated. One of the best examples of this is Hate's Uprising 2. Another great example is Nyternia Calamity (old name). This game was actually really enjoyable and had a couple hours worth of content, but after that, that was just it. I'm hoping we get better games soon, but it's incredibly unlikely.
Ulc having all 5 chains on the new clock is basically: "Update in: Never". Tho, it gets super minor balance changes every week or something, but man, feels like after ufs died updates slowed down. (That or they're trying to make them polished now, but idk)
Does anyone remember Soulshatters? For those who do, undertale test place reborn and alternate battlegrounds are good games that are basicly the same with some different functions.

I really didn't want to make a view on this because I hate writing long series of texts, but I have really mixed opinions on the way things are going From a content standpoint, the UTR fandom is morphing into 4 major types of games, which is lowering creativity, and from this point it will be harder to find more unique things to show for. However, i do feel like due to the funnel of games, what's currently left is pushing as hard as they can to refine their styles, which leads to massive improvements on these games and massively increase their quality. For those who like the gameplay of the new "funneled" games, it turns out great because now although you have less options, the ones that are left are WAY higher and better then what they used to be years ago. I feel like although this isn't the best course of action, it's just building itself into a more specific game type with way better done versions than a lot of smaller, unique games. Personally I'm into a lot of fandoms, so this just makes the genre more interesting, as what i come to it for is way better than what it was. However, yes. It is much worse for TH-camrs and new people who want to get into the fandom because of how specific it is now.
Personally, I think the main reason why Roblox Undertale games have fallen off so much is because of: 1.) A lack in variety of kinds of games. And 2.) Lack of updates, too much grinding, & lack of content. There’s been too many Sans vs Chara fangames with little to no variety. Sans vs Chara fangames tend to also have way too much grinding (No, I do not want to grind to 3K+ wins just for a good AU to play as) anti-farming rules, & even a lack of variety in Sans AU attacks. I’ve also noticed that a majority of them have Sans AUs (with most of them being the fanon versions rather than canon) rather than more Chara, Frisk, Flowey, etc AUs. There’s a ton of those kinds of underrated AUs, devs just have to search for them. Even Ink Sans (who has literal Creation + Ink manipulation abilities), the one AU character where devs have countless possibilities to make unique attacks for, usually has the same attacks in most Roblox Undertale games. And most of them use the OP fanon Ink Sans version & weak fanon Dream sans. Games like UTPR, Alternate battlegrounds, & Soulshatters had alot of potential, but they all have a lack of updates, characters, & features. They could of added features like boss fights, a story mode, unlockable characters to use through quests, boss fights or kills, unlockable attacks / alternate attack sets, more AU characters (Ink, Error, Dream, Storyshift Chara, UTY Clover, characters from Empathytale, maybe even like a contest for ppl to have their own OCs added as playable characters) but they never did so. There’s lots of potential for more Roblox Undertale games, like if someone decides to make an actual high quality fangame with a story. Or if someone makes a game like UTPR with more fratures & characters. I’ve even noticed Roblox Undertale AU Roleplay Games fall off due to lack of updates as well like “Undertale RP: Crossing Timelines” for example. Althought the current playerbass is partially to blame, the devs also never really update the game that much. There’s SO MUCH POTENTIAL for a UTAU RP Game, especially with locations like: - The doodlesphere (the 2 canon versions of it, not the fanon / Underverse version that every RP game uses smh) - The anti void, void, Outertale + the other locations in Outertale, Different AU variations of judgement hall, The no-longer-canon Truce Rock Area from the deleted Underverse comic, The Omega Timeline, Dreamtale (the tree of feelings, the village, Neil’s house in the forest, Nightmare’s castle, etc) - Glitchtale’s city, the arena in Glitchtale, the area Frisk & Betty fought in, etc. (I know that most Roblox UTAU games have removed Glitchtale due to Cami’s actions, but they could just stated that they aren’t affiliated with Camila or just make their own take on Glitchtale). - Xtale’s town / city location, other locations in Xtale from the cnaon side comics, the area from the beginning of Xtale, etc. But the potential is sadly more often than not, missed.
And even then, the hypersweats keep joining the mid-wins and farming wins off of them while they can do nothing which makes the game get more annoying and annoying the more hypersweats you see to the point you don't really wanna play it. And also for mid-wins the progression is slow, VERY slow for most characters.

This is true in my personal experience. Now there isn't great sans vs sans fighting genres, sans vs chara, soul ops fangames are falling off a little bit. Events kinda eh overall. 2020-2021 is definitely a starter for devs to make good ut later on. unfortunately, it won't last forever.
To add more with this, developers not able to keep up as they have real life issues ongoing for quite some time and thus updating is rarely possible. Drama is of course inflicted in undertale communities and may contribute of this issue.
UJD used to update on a consistent basis for a while during 2020-2021 or something (a new update each week), but now after the pt 1 Christmas update, the game's just been dead, they even cancelled their pt 2 to their Christmas update, they've teased a few things but as of now, last sneak peek was a little over 2 months ago ULC meanwhile is at least making something big, what the community is calling "The Papyrus Update" which sadly got delayed, but for valid reasons, that being that they're adding over double the original planned amount of content, the Real Knife rework was just released so that players have at least something to make up for the long wait, they're also doing a progress log by the end of the month (so either today or tomorrow) that will give some info on what's planned and it's progress, of course not all of it since that would ruin the surprise but a good chunk at least

Tbh, looking back at ums:r it was literally just ufs, but limited. Like, skin system, dashes, run, stamina, dodges, server size, it was just ufs public test. Next, I don't get what you mean by fun loop instead of stable, but I think exactly when this comment was made, was when they had fun with game, making unbalanced stuff, but fun. Like, OT paps dashing across the map and bumping into last wall is fun, but "given the option, players will optimize the fun out of the game" (From Random comment somewhere). So even I myself just camped it out and ran with bone jump, making everyone else not have much fun. And then skipped everyone else's turns with immortal dull knife, to get that 75k for shotgun. It wasn't fun for anyone, tbh. But looking back at it, I miss when neutral was op, when he had big platforms and he was half impossible. I miss hard battles. Hard but possible battles. I miss when it was about fun.
I agree with your thoughts. Roblox Undertale while it's higher quality and more polished than it used to be, has been intact since the very start, so all we get is the same type of game genres. It gets really repetitive, specially if you've been playing for years. I used to play ULC a lot in the past, but right now? I barely care about any Rblox UT game, they've just been the same thing, never changing or trying something new. That's probably why I like Lad as a developer, he makes whatever he wants. I think most of his older games aren't really worth looking up to but: his upcoming game is really cool, it's inspired by an old Zombie infection game in Roblox, so I'm exited to play it, as it is infact a different genre than the same 3 we have at the moment. But even then, Lad will probably cancel the game like he always does, so I'm unsure what's next. I'd say I hope the genre revived and people started trying new things, but that's far from the truth. Most of the developers in the community are teenagers which most of their inspiration comes from making games such as the big three (SvC, UTMM, OPS). And not the blame them or call them uncreative, but that's as far as their inspiration usually goes, so all they do is contribute to the same genres. I highly doubt UT Roblox will ever make a comeback, considering most Devs will likely move on to different platforms when they get bored of Roblox/Undertale. So, ehh, I guess some things are better left dead. I don't want to end on a negative note, so I'll be optimistic. At least a lot of people got inspired to learn useful creative skills such as coding, modeling, drawing, composing; all of these could provide for a better future for people involved, which is quite nice. Not to mention most new fans will likely greatly enjoy the current state of UT Roblox, so they'll have fun; and who knows, they might also end up becoming a dev themselves.

Out of all the Roblox undertale games I’ve played, ufs and ulc are the most fun, but both have issues. Ulc is still heavily being reworked and updates are slow, but large, which doesn’t favor content creation. Ulc has balance issues, but they aren’t as bad as they seem. They have some great characters and some weaker ones, but overall has been getting better, although quite slowly. Ufs has been getting smaller updates, but the game is fairly small, but each character is unique. The biggest issue is that the Chara gameplay is incredibly basic and boring, with little to no variations. The only meaningful soul is dt and kindness I guess. Another issue is the balance. In theory ufs is quite balanced and is skill based. Currently, it needs skill but a lot of sans characters have things such as 1 shot combos that are incredibly unfair and annoying.
I agree with this. most Undertale Roblox are just straight garbage , or extremely boring, sometimes both. There’s only a handful of good Undertale Roblox games. Such as Ufs, eternal star etc. I also i find Undertale final showdown fun to this day. Its gameplay is way more balanced and smoother than ujd or ulc. And get this, it takes some amount of skill to get good at.(what a Shocker) The only problem I see with gameplay are the telekinesis combos and the somewhat boring grind.

UJD used to update on a consistent basis for a while during 2020-2021 or something (a new update each week), but now after the pt 1 Christmas update, the game's just been dead, they even cancelled their pt 2 to their Christmas update, they've teased a few things but as of now, last sneak peek was a little over 2 months ago
ULC meanwhile is at least making something big, what the community is calling "The Papyrus Update" which sadly got delayed, but for valid reasons, that being that they're adding over double the original planned amount of content, the Real Knife rework was just released so that players have at least something to make up for the long wait, they're also doing a progress log by the end of the month (so either today or tomorrow) that will give some info on what's planned and it's progress, of course not all of it since that would ruin the surprise but a good chunk at least

Tbh, looking back at ums:r it was literally just ufs, but limited. Like, skin system, dashes, run, stamina, dodges, server size, it was just ufs public test.
Next, I don't get what you mean by fun loop instead of stable, but I think exactly when this comment was made, was when they had fun with game, making unbalanced stuff, but fun. Like, OT paps dashing across the map and bumping into last wall is fun, but "given the option, players will optimize the fun out of the game" (From Random comment somewhere). So even I myself just camped it out and ran with bone jump, making everyone else not have much fun. And then skipped everyone else's turns with immortal dull knife, to get that 75k for shotgun. It wasn't fun for anyone, tbh. But looking back at it, I miss when neutral was op, when he had big platforms and he was half impossible. I miss hard battles. Hard but possible battles. I miss when it was about fun.

Roblox Undertale while it's higher quality and more polished than it used to be, has been intact since the very start, so all we get is the same type of game genres. It gets really repetitive, specially if you've been playing for years. I used to play ULC a lot in the past, but right now? I barely care about any Rblox UT game, they've just been the same thing, never changing or trying something new.
That's probably why I like Lad as a developer, he makes whatever he wants. I think most of his older games aren't really worth looking up to but: his upcoming game is really cool, it's inspired by an old Zombie infection game in Roblox, so I'm exited to play it, as it is infact a different genre than the same 3 we have at the moment.
But even then, Lad will probably cancel the game like he always does, so I'm unsure what's next.
I'd say I hope the genre revived and people started trying new things, but that's far from the truth. Most of the developers in the community are teenagers which most of their inspiration comes from making games such as the big three (SvC, UTMM, OPS). And not the blame them or call them uncreative, but that's as far as their inspiration usually goes, so all they do is contribute to the same genres.
I highly doubt UT Roblox will ever make a comeback, considering most Devs will likely move on to different platforms when they get bored of Roblox/Undertale. So, ehh, I guess some things are better left dead.
I don't want to end on a negative note, so I'll be optimistic.
At least a lot of people got inspired to learn useful creative skills such as coding, modeling, drawing, composing; all of these could provide for a better future for people involved, which is quite nice. Not to mention most new fans will likely greatly enjoy the current state of UT Roblox, so they'll have fun; and who knows, they might also end up becoming a dev themselves.
I personally think that if games like ulc and ufs make good updates and content creators continue to enjoy making videos on them then maybe roblox undertale games might live on
Out of all the Roblox undertale games I’ve played, ufs and ulc are the most fun, but both have issues. Ulc is still heavily being reworked and updates are slow, but large, which doesn’t favor content creation. Ulc has balance issues, but they aren’t as bad as they seem. They have some great characters and some weaker ones, but overall has been getting better, although quite slowly. Ufs has been getting smaller updates, but the game is fairly small, but each character is unique. The biggest issue is that the Chara gameplay is incredibly basic and boring, with little to no variations. The only meaningful soul is dt and kindness I guess. Another issue is the balance. In theory ufs is quite balanced and is skill based. Currently, it needs skill but a lot of sans characters have things such as 1 shot combos that are incredibly unfair and annoying.
I agree with this. most Undertale Roblox are just straight garbage , or extremely boring, sometimes both.
There’s only a handful of good Undertale Roblox games. Such as Ufs, eternal star etc.
I also i find Undertale final showdown fun to this day. Its gameplay is way more balanced and smoother than ujd or ulc.
And get this, it takes some amount of skill to get good at.(what a Shocker)
The only problem I see with gameplay are the telekinesis combos and the somewhat boring grind.
ufs took too long to release which gave me time to get bored of sans vs player type games

Yeah. I always liked judgement day but im never seeing any good things about the game anymore. Once i move onto ulc and ufs i might just wuit those too and maybe play other games.
Then what kind of game does the community want, because noone is truly satisfied with a game forever.

yeah i have to say, final show down was a dissapointment. not because the game sucked, the gaemeplay just got old really fast, and with certain char's being meta's, we so much of the same shit every round. i quit show down like 2 days after it released when the what i call "blue take over" began, and now that everyone isnt using blue, they have all the op char's now.
