I've tried the Simon Says crystal game a few times and I could already tell that I'm not gonna like completing it for the 3 golden walnuts it does give(and I have 6 left to get for that part of getting Perfection on my Xbox save).

You can most easily get them from lightning rods, which are unlocked at foraging level 6, take bat wings to craft (impossible to get on the island?) and are probably useless on the island since there are no thunderstorms there I think, only rain. Other methods are iridium bats (skull cavern) and solar panels, which aren't craftable until after Caroline's island quest which can't be done without access to SV.

Same for hating it! I found it solvable by recording the screen with my phone, then playing the recording back several times. It's awfully fiddly but at least it's less stressful. Now of course one can just pay the parrot to do the rest.
