The woman singer is fantastic, I was not expecting a lower pitch and loved it. Lots of metal bands have a low - high counterpoint and it was nice to just hear a beautiful voice!

So, why I never heard of this band, I don't know. I really like what I hear as well as what I see. I guess I need to prepare and set aside funds to purchase all 8 studio albums... I've read an article that briefly compares Temperance with Amaranthe. The one thing I don't like about Amaranthe is Henrik's harsh, demonic-like vocal parts, (this kind of vocal turns me off of other bands as well). To me it ruins the the melodic feel. I prefer to hear Elize solo or with Nils, who also has a great voice. Again, this is only my opinion/musical preference. Disparage me, if you must.
Then do you need to go to Visions of Altlantis and listen to Michele Guaitoli together with Clémentine Delauney in Melancholy Angel. I can disagree about Amarnthes harsh vocals, but GG6 has now left the band and been replaced with Mikael Sehlin but they sounds much the same.
@@jan-e.bypower I am familiar with Visions of Altlantis, a very good sounding band, indeed. I need to do some more listening to a lot of these types of bands, I have to admit. There's so much out there, and I rely on TH-cam quite a bit to find new music to listen to. Being in the US, radio and 98% of today's pop rock/metal doesn't do it for me. It never really did. The majority of my favorites since the 80's are from 'across the pond', as they say.. 😁... Rock On, jan.

Lots to like about this - great vocals, structure, soaring harmonies, excellent production. A dramatic coda. Not a track put together in five minutes. In some ways it's a victim of it's own depth - too much to take in straight away, you'll need several plays to get your head round it. Great as a listening experience, but I don't think it has the hooks to linger in the mind afterwards. Nevertheless, it's worthy of your playlist. My Score: Good 3*
