Jumpstyle looks like fun with all the kicks and spins. Shuffling looks more smooth, how the feet glide across the floor. I can't pick! They both look cool!
Shuffling at that speed is waaayyy harder, it’s pure strength. This is probably 150-160 bpm, it’s the lowest speed for jumpstyle, considering hardcore is the genre that started the dance. Shuffle is way older and it’s usually associated with house music (120 roughly?), uk hardcore when you’re feeling brave (130-150). What I’m saying is that if you want to practice cool moves and you don’t like slower music you might wanna stick to jumpstyle.
I remember when jumpstyle started booming in the Netherlands and everyone at highschool was jumping non-stop. Amazing to see it as a viable dance style in DRS!
The shuffle style looks so easy, even though I know it's not! A very effortless dancer. Honestly, it's impressive that the jumpstyler can keep track of his feet and get everywhere he needs to be on the little stage. Very good dancers, the both of them~
I know this is a year old comment, but I just want to let you know that people won't laugh or think you're a bad player. I've seen people just get on it who don't know how to dance, but nobody's going to stop and judge you. Doesn't matter If you're a good or bad dancer, people are mainly just going to stop and look at the screen to see how the game works or just walk by you. You'll get eyes inevitably, but they're all just minding their own business.
@@sierraspritemist8464 thanks, it makes me comfortable to know that people don't judge me :) i always get anxiety when i go out in public, because i'm afraid that i'll do something embarassing, i'm a pretty good dancer tho
Shuffle seems more easier and your movements aren't all over the place. More so gliding and less movements. Its focused on your legs more than your arms or whole body. Shuffling comes in handy when you have to slide. Jumpstyle seems all over the place. Using the whole body especially your legs to keep you going through the whole song. I would have to work out before playing. Good stamina is key. I feel with the jumpstyle. It also allows for more creative since your jumping. Use it to do tricks and what not. Whatever helps you get a high score or you feel comfortable using. Go for it because there might be someone out there that uses both of these styles. I wish they bring that arcade game here to the states, perferably DC. Keep gaming!
There’s a bit of history here. Jumpstyle originated around the rise of gabber music in Holland, which is usually faster and whose hallmark sounds were bitcrusher effects and a BPM north of 170. The (Melbourne) shuffle on the other hand is more associated with slower BPM like trance music (120-140 BPM). If you think about it, it’s actually easier to shuffle to slower music, and the jumps and kicks of jumpstyle are better suited to faster BPM’s, since it’d be really exhausting to shuffle at that speed continuously. And is probably why jumpstyle so often matches choreography to half-notes (half speed) to emphasize breakdowns (Sry I know this comment is a year old. But since these games have become popular it’s weird how dance history relates haha.)
there are different types of soles of shoes you can get so if it's higher grip there is more friction and most of the time you can notice that some shoes have more friction than others so I recommend lightweight shoes(?) if that somehow makes sense
DDR is LITERALLY the lowest common denomination. DRS seems to be more fun and have more creative application compared to tapping arrows. Coming from someone that tapped arrows a lot in my young-adulthood.

why dont do both
since in game there some slide but we also can jump
you can very much take one depending on where you are at and integrate parts of the other in it lol

Yeah. Wtill remember those old days.. thought all of that is dead already..
This game revives the golden age of street dancing.
Twerkers and other shitty dance challenge beware.
I like how this game adds a bit of art into playing it - the end goal is hitting the notes put you can do it in different styles of dance

Im glad, cause there's a lot of people still doing shuffle and jumpstyle :))
it's great to see the hat spin being done. we did it back in 96. keep rockin!

nah, they high five or whatever at the end
That was amazing.
Are there any other dance styles that can be used for DRS?
Montgomery Webster yes, there is the newer shuffle style and there are probably some who do techno house dance styles
Any.
Freestyle it :3
try skank (dnbstep)

use socks
baby powder
Some said russian can do jump style only with squat position
Jumpstyle looks much cooler
Jumpstyle only!!
If anyone has the track and artist of the song, let me know!
