I love the headcanon that Janus wheres the gloves to cover up his scales from spreading. Like in the most recent video, where he reveals his name, he pulls off *one* glove, meaning that theres a chance that his other hand could be covered in scales. And the only reason he wears two gloves instead of one on that one hand is so people don't get suspicious

I like to headcannon that everytime he lies, a new scale shows up. This is why in the video with Gavin, the scales are less noticable than Janus'. That or they were lazy doing Gavin's scales.

It's okay, Janus, I feel your pain. I too have been asked this. It isn't our fault everyone feels the need to be tall for no reason.

Ok but like I have this headcanon that each side has a marking that spreads each time they go against their nature. So basically, each time Janus tells the truth when he could have just as easily lied and would have benefitted from such, his scales spread. This would also explain his quick corrections of involuntary truths like when Patton was trying to rise up and Dee was like “I mean that didn’t hurt me” because he could be trying to prevent the scales from spreading- weather that be from insecurity or practicality. I haven’t put too much thought into what the other sides markings would be but I have it pretty mentally set that Logan’s would basically be the design of a computer’s motherboard.
