Adapted for double bass and piano by Daniel Matthewes. Works excellent with three different variants of double bass tuning in fourths. This version here is performed with cGDA tuning (high C string), the versions with lower tunings perform some parts an octave lower. Your playing is really moving! I love what you have done with this piece, it sounds quite different than the original and adding the double bass creates something wonderful. I wonder, is it technically possible and musically reasonable to play this piece on standard solo tuning?

Oh, thank you ☺🙏 yes, instrumentation done for different instruments will result also in a different sound. If the final results sounds good, that's the goal 😁👌 yes, this Romance works well also with lower tunings. Some parts are performed than an octave lower. However, orchestra tuning would be here more comfortable choice than solo tuning

Yes, that is one part of what it does. It also works as an acoustic support for it keeps the harmonics sounding clear. So it improves quality of the sound in the concert hall, not the quantity. Many floor types aren't helpful for the sound at all
