Talk to your school about housing then after you get here Maybe after a month or 2. Talk to friends about apartment. Check Facebook market place in Mauritius for possible leasing posts.

May I please request the group link for Nigerians in Mauritius And lastly will immigration accept hotel reservation in place of accommodation contract for student visa and upon arrival at the airport if it will be acceptable And for a student coming from Nigeria, do they allow Nigerians book one way or you must book a return flight ticket Thank you.
To join the group you need to gain admission to one of the schools in Mauritius. Yes you can book a hotel as a student but it must be done before your arrival. Both students and visitors must show a return ticket.

Yes you can come for a conference. Around June to July is best for visitors
