the red case deal went up from $20 to $34 already. I cant in good conscience provide an affiliate link at that price considering i was talking about how it was $20 at the time. If interested id advise you to constantly check amazon for the price.
There are none for the rest of them it is scream factorys verison of rescans just put in smaller set scream factory set includes a 2k rescan jason x and jason goes to hell
My friend, you are bringing back memories. I had a sony betamax, before I get vhs, and i did have laser disc i still have that player in the attic and a few of my movies. The Beta player is long since gone as well. All the films that I had. I don't even have many vhs. Left space is an issue and um. Uh, I need to trim corners where needed, but it is fun. Seeing your videos and seeing that technology again, it was everyday commonplace for me
The $80 VHS tapes you refer to were often copies made to be sold to video stores. During that time, most movies that came out on video were available to rent months before they were available to purchase at a store like Wal-Mart or Best Buy (Unless it was a Disney animated flick or a Star Wars or Jurassic Park-level blockbuster. Those would usually come out for retail sale and rental the same day). So, Jason Lives first sold for 80 bucks to rental stores, who made their money back from the rentals, then, 6 months or a year or so later, it’d show up on sale at Wal-Mart for 20 bucks or less.
At 3:27, those 80 dollar VHS tapes were not retail tapes. Those 80 dollar tapes were mainly for rental stores wanting to purchase rental copies for their stores and if an average person wanted to own it before retail, they had to specially order it from the distributer and pay that price......that's why rental stores were pushing the "previously viewed copies" thing on customers back then because most could not afford to pay $80 or $90.00 a piece for a tape. The retail copies were never 80 dollars, they were usually 20 to 30 bucks a piece when first released. Laserdisc copies were available to purchase for 30/40 bucks(usually) same day as rental release, so LD was the cheapest way to own a movie back then if you wanted to own it before retail. Very different times indeed. I hope that lessens the confusion about that.
Love the video and super jealous. You have the most baller horror collection I’ve ever seen. With my shout factory blu ray box set I switched all my cases with blue shout factory cases and I think it looks better
Amazing video as always, I love seeing all the releases evolve over the years! My first experience with the Friday releases was seeing that original DVD run with the new covers starting with Part 5! They used to sell those dirt cheap at my local Walgreens lol! Eventually ended up getting that Box Set with the mini mask, and now I have the Scream Factory set! By the way, I actually do have that 8-movie blu ray set your missing with the slipcover and all! I'd love to give that to a collector like you! It's just gathering dust ever since the SF set came out, let me know! 😂😂
I own the red case collection and have watched them. Even though the original is listed as being the theatrical version, it is actually the unrated edition.
I have the Part 2 CED (besides the original) which has a cover art image I have never seen on anything else of Jeff and Sandra moments before their deaths.
This is the first time I’ve seen that Japanese Part 5 artwork and I definitely agree with you on it. Never owned any Laserdiscs but it’s definitely an interesting format, I was born in 97 so I must’ve just missed them when they were at their most popular time. And as for how many I own I have the first 8 films on dvd because blockbuster saved and sold them to me when they closed down in my area because I constantly rented them lol. I also own the Crystal Lake to Manhattan Dvd set (absolutely love the artwork on it so much) I own the 4 movie collection of the first 4 on dvd, JGTH dvd and Jason x dvd, FVJ dvd. The 8 movie blu ray Collection that you don’t own and man I hate the artwork. And finally the Beautiful Scream Factory Boxset. I missed out on the Tin set sadly.
You can still get the 8-movie 2021 Paramount Blu-ray set for between 20 and 25 dollars brand new on Ebay. I ordered it from an Ebay seller about a month ago (to give as a gift since I've had the Canadian version for months which I got in August for a price in Canadian dollars that amounts to between $25 and $26 USD) for 24 dollars with free shipping. That being the case, it was less than $26.50 with tax shipped, and it got here faster than some non-Prime orders are even shipping from Amazon. I want to make it clear that this is not at all a matter of complaining about anything resulting from what happened in Kentucky and Ohio. This thing with Amazon taking far longer to ship than usual was going on for a while prior to that.
Amazing collection man . Great video idea my favourit release is the scream factory box set it got me back in collection and in to getting a region free player . Just a quick question do you steel have that Friday 5 lamp you made your self ?
I don't really collect older formats but long ago I came across a copy of Halloween 3 and Star Wars A New Hope on CED and I just had to have them. Even if the format is a big joke, I do believe they are cool to have.
Laserdisc wasn’t really a competitor to VHS. VCRs outsold Laserdisc players by a factor of 100 to 1. Laserdiscs were primarily made for hardcore movie fans and collectors that liked special features, director’s cuts, or had a home theater setup in the 80s.
DVD lunch with no paramount titles bc I was working at a retail store back in 1997 when dvds lunch and one of the first titles wear Warner Bros films paramount did not jump into DVD until about year after it lunch but I will say this DVDs wear so cool bc there was a company called anchor bay and there releases on DVD wear one of the best bc of the films they would release on DVD and anchor bay biggest titles wear horror films and anchor bay did release alot of cool horror movies on dvd but also release other films beside horror movies on dvd but still to this day there is still horror films that anchor bay releases on DVD that still have not gotten a blu-ray release and cool video and keep them coming
Man talk about a flash back to the good old days laser disk was top notch for people who could afford them I had a friend who own about 100 Laser disk and he would show me how cool they would and played some movies that wear only available on laser disk like 1988 bad dreams and 1988 slaughter house rocks but the best one he showed me that he owned was 1996 the frighteners bc that movie was so loud and looked amazing on laser disk and I almost bought me a laser disk player bc there was so many cool movies that wear only available on laser disk but some movie wear very expensive like the abyss and the original Halloween wear price range between 50 and 80 bucks and the down side was all laser disk had only half of the film on one side and you had to flip the disk and some films on laser disk wear 2 or more disk but laser disk had some of the best audio with amazing base and cool features on them but like I said I almost got into buying a laser disk player but in late 1997 when I was going to buy a laser disk player DVDs came on the market and DVDs wear cheaper so I went with buying DVDs instead but like I said laser disk was very cool and still to this day there is still films only had a laser disk release and never been released on DVD or blu-ray as of now that is why laser disk was so cool and cool info about laser disk and keep the videos coming

I totally forgot that Jason X and Freddy vs Jason we’re on VHS.
14:11, I have that 8 movie blu ray collection with the slip.
I really love looking at all these different versions of my favorite slasher series! Especially the neat Japanese laser discs. Great vid CHH!
Thank you!
Same
That Red case bluray set is nice. I just wish they included 4k scans of all 8 films. not just 1-4
Most look great but part 7 did need a new transfer it is easily the worst looking imo in any set
There are none for the rest of them it is scream factorys verison of rescans just put in smaller set scream factory set includes a 2k rescan jason x and jason goes to hell
They will always do rescans on movies that have them which meand 6 and 7 and 8 dont have any rescans no neef for them to do one
I had Friday the 13th parts 1-5 on CED. Those were good times.
My friend, you are bringing back memories. I had a sony betamax, before I get vhs, and i did have laser disc i still have that player in the attic and a few of my movies. Awesome video as always man. Nerve can get enough Friday 13th
I can binge watch this channel for weeks. High quality content with never biased information. Keep up the good work!
thank you!
Had 1-9 on VHS and had to give them up when I moved 10 years ago. Outmoded as they are, I still miss those VHS tapes...

thank god those days are over!
Always good to see another CHH
Thank you!
Great video and great F13 physical media collection!
Awesome video again man as always. Never get enough Friday 13 I got the red case deal thanks to you.
Great editions you have!
Cool collection, the dvd set with the lenticular is the only one I’ve never seen (I’ve of course seen the one with the mask)
One of my local libraries has that paramount 8 disc lenticular dvd set, I love how the sleaves basically gave each movie their own passport
My grandparents used to have one of those CED players. I really wish I had the player and discs just for the weirdness factor. It's kinda neat.
Love the video and super jealous. You have the most baller horror collection I’ve ever seen.
With my shout factory blu ray box set I switched all my cases with blue shout factory cases and I think it looks better
So many versions. Great video
Wow, incredible look back in time and a bunch of releases I didn't know even existed! Thanks for sharing 🤘
Thanks for watching
Great topic! I honestly did not know much about the CED system, very interesting.

one of ur best videos
Thank you!
Excellent review..
Great video. I snagged the red case deal a few days ago. I just looked and the price is up to $34.99 now.
Had The Set From 11-13 Years Ago With Jason Hockey Mask Included 😮
I have the Part 2 CED (besides the original) which has a cover art image I have never seen on anything else of Jeff and Sandra moments before their deaths.
I bought my laser disc player for the sole reason that I wanted to see movies in the original aspect ratio. VHS were almost exclusively pan & scan.

Think I’m gonna replace the 8 film blu ray Collection with the Red Case Edition though because I like that one much better!

I have part 3 and 5 on Turkish vcd. The weirdest thing with those are the trailers at the beginning, all comedies.
Amazing collection man . Great video idea my favourit release is the scream factory box set it got me back in collection and in to getting a region free player . Just a quick question do you steel have that Friday 5 lamp you made your self ?
Yea I do
@@PlanetCHH awesome
The red case price went back up
I don't really collect older formats but long ago I came across a copy of Halloween 3 and Star Wars A New Hope on CED and I just had to have them. Even if the format is a big joke, I do believe they are cool to have.
Laserdisc Was A Precerser To DVD 📀 Of Which Is Larger Than DVD But The Concet Is The Same 😮

Got the red case at target for $60😯 But I'm a Friday nerd what can I say 😉
Paramount was originally an HD DVD supporter. Were there any HD DVD releases, or no?
Not to my knowledge
