Thank you sir for speaking out! We need more people like you! And as an Israeli citizen living abroad, I want to say that I disagree with the Jewish settlers in the occupied territories. It's unethical and criminal. The Jews that settle there are religious fanatics or are attracted by the very very cheap prices. And Netanyahu needs to go to jai because he a corrupt scum, but that's an internal problem for which many Israelis were protesting before the war. Netanyahu allied himself with the religious right in Israel to remain in power, otherwise he would have to probably go to jail for corruption, and because he allied himself with the religious far right he needs to pass laws in their favor. Laws that the majority secular country disagrees with, which is why Israel was on the verge of civil revolution before the war. The problem is with the religious fanatics in both sides. I bet none of those primitives that beheaded babies and mutilated women and elderly in Israel had a proper education, none were physicists or scientists but uneducated religious fanatics. Moderate Jews and Arabs on both sides need to come togather and find common ground for the sake of humanity, life, love and the future of our people and children. People with common sense and proper morality need to step up because for evil to keep flourish, it is enough for good people to do nothing. PEACE & LOVE ✌️❤

For those who don't know that's an elite IDF unit that many Arab-Israelis choose to join (only jewish israelis have mandatory service, for arab-israelis it's on a voluntary basis).

I am an Israeli, I had my cousin and her friends visiting here from Germany, On Shabbat I took them to show the Ancient Jaffa and the port, at the end we sat in an Arab bar. At the beginning, they asked me how long it is to get to Jaffa, and very surprise when I said that we are already in Jaffa, just on the other end of it. Then when we sat at the bar, they finally voiced their confusion - from the media, they thought that "we had WW1 style trenches here, but everything is so... chill.". They also expected to see sharp difference between Arab town and Jewish town and were surprised there wasn't one.

I applaud your comment about not condoning or supporting Hamas and I also recognise that not all Palestinians are complicit, unfortunately they appear to be a minority because Hamas seem to be very much running the show. It would be nice to be proved wrong on this, but there is currently no hard evidence to the contrary. I see injustice but don’t support Palestine. It works both ways, especially with some of the lies from the Palestinian side. No one is innocent in this. This didn't start on 7th October, Israel have been bombing the Palestinians by collective punishment and committing warcrimes for decades whenever they want to 'mow the lawn', with impunity. I have been privileged to have lived in the West Bank and in Jerusalem proper and also to visit Jerusalem again years later. Perhaps this young woman will one day have the opportunity to visit that part of the world and see for herself how complex and subtle the situation is that no simplified account suffices to describe the dynamics which mark this area. Textbooks and historical tomes may present some sense of the complexity of that location that has thousands of years of buried memory in a stratigraphic soil but not without the encounter of real people who reside or are from there. May her understanding of the world begin blossoming from this initial encounter. We can only wait with bated breath.

I've also visited Israel several times, but the thing is, you don't really need to because common sense should be enough to inform you that there is no apartheid. Israel is a popular holiday destination for young people, it's also the Holy Land, and so attracts the religious. Figures fluctuate, but there can be anything from 2 - 4 million visitors per year, and yet none of them come back clutching their pearls having witnessed apartheid. Unlike South Africa back in the day, governments aren't raising concerns about it either.
Indeed, apartheid means a system of discrimination based on race. The fact that there are Arab citizens of Israel, and Arabs serving in high level positions in the Israeli government and military, disputes this argument.

I went to Israel pre pandemic for a short holiday. I stood on King Davids tower looking down watching everyone getting on with each other, The call to prayer echoed out from the mosques, while at the same time the bells rang out from the Christian churches and while this was going a group were celebrating in the street a bar mitzvah. Look through the comment sections on any YT video (or other websites for that matter) and you (I mean everyone, not just you personally) will see all kinds of people that don't do their research. Those are pretty well documented.

Jewish people have been inhabitants of that region before the year 300 BC which at that time the region was named Judea. Egypt and Jordan and Judea and the Gaza Strip all describe in ancient texts and books.
