It's turning into a material event with the elaborate dresses [most are miniature wedding dresses complete with trains, long veils, crowns and rhinestone jewelry], stretch limos, gifts and parties. I hear little talk [really no talk] from the children about the true reason for the event. The kids know the title of the event and it's held in a church, but other than that it's turned into nothing, but materialism. Remember, Jesus was a simple carpenter and NOTHING about him was extravagant.
I think the travelling community has much more principles than any other community we live in. People will continue to hate when they are jealous and they do not wain from what they believe. Much respect to them.
What about the travellers who trash an area they stay in..leave rubbish and shit everywhere..what about the travellers who steal..beat up locals..con elderly people out of money? Trash venues they hold party's in..fighting drunken behaviour. Are they the ones you think people are jealous of or are they the ones you think have principles . Watch some traveller messages on TH-cam..blatant disregard for laws...I have no idea what travellers you were talking about.

Also, a white veil, to show humility rather than a bejeweled tiara more fitting for an actual princess or queen. Dresses are amazing, and families are very nice, but the opulence sends the wrong message that the child is the queen for the day. The jewelry and tiara get up is that of a mature to elderly lady at a ball in times gone by. Perfect example of how "Less is More,"
