The difference with Canada is that Europeans aren't the native peoples here, the Aboriginals are and they were nearly wiped out. With protectionism taking over the world, ever so slowly, and our (already diminishing) export sectors bound to suffer, we can only pray that all these people will somehow integrate and find meaningful jobs.

Thousands of syrian refugees have fled to jordan as well, these refugees have gone to literally any country they can. Why shouldn't Canada help? Canada is underpopulated and has more than enough resources to aid them. Why would you dump them on developing countries? As if they didn't have enough problems to begin with.
