there is no Lego, as far as I know, Cobi, Panlos, Kazi and BlueBrixx have them in their range, but not Lego

Really just goes to show why you pay for Lego or Cobi blocks. They are simply better fitting.
I don't know, that looks like about the same amount of power the big LEGO Technic sets end up with. Only real difference is LEGO would have done it with just two motors and a twelve way transmission that can only run one feature at a time
I've just finished making this model and I had no issue with the fitting of the blocks at all. I haven't motorized it however...
