"Your soul is my treasure." He then proceeded to put his soul into a coin. So does this imply that he can use his soul for anything? force information out of him? Torture him? Use it in even darker magic? And if he can force info out of him, things are gonna get real bad.
I think the reason they did this is (excuse me if I don’t read all the comments to see if anyone else has mentioned this but) because in a sense human are taking the magic that come from with in something and reverse engineer it for there own uses.
*Honestly, I love this show.* I believe though that the incantations would have sounded better if they were in another language or not reversed. There's something about the reversed english that doesn't scare me BUT when its not reversed, not gonna lie, its a little hair raising. Sounds more terrifying. Cant wait for season 2 tho. Love this show.
I saw someone else point out that it being just backwards English fits with the lore of the show. Other magic spell are in dragonic(latin). Where as dark magic came from humans so its language is based on English.

While I love the show and its concept, it does seem rather low budget. Maybe it's because I think 3D animation looks tacky but I also think they could have done better with the spells, I could tell right off the bat it was just reversed english 🤷♀️
Simply reversing the audio gives it a computerized sound. I think the voice actors should imitate the reversed audio, or they can change their intonation.
