Good tips for beginners! I've been wearing makeup for a bit over a year and I'm 14 now. What I usually wear is liquid concealer on my blemishes, foundation powder, white eyeliner in my waterline and inner corner(to brighten eyes), some mascara, and some lip gloss. So girls who are just starting with makeup; you don't have to wear tons of makeup, in fact you shouldn't have to feel the need to wear it at all unless you truly want to. A lot of the time with makeup, less is more. :)
Ive been letting my 9 year old daughter watch your videos for a while now and I got to say.... I TRULY hope that your videos are still on herein 4-5 years when I start letting her wear make up ect... you are such a wonderful role model for young girls. Thanks for just being you,.. Thanks From Holly and daughter Julie
I'm thirteen and the only one in my class who doesn't wear makeup. I plan on asking my mom if I can start wearing makeup tomorrow. But this helped a lot! Thank u! Love uur channel.
Omg thank you much for posting this! I'm going into middle school, and I really wanted to know like starter stuff and this helped me a lot! Please post more videos like this one!
I recommend using a whipped foundation it gives you full coverage and light depends how much layers you put on. If you don't know what color you are swatch the testers on your and see which one matches you good. A good BB cream is by cover girl also :)
I love the elf brand especially their tinted lip balms, I wear them all the time!!!! I also like to keep my makeup natural as well as brighten up my eyes so I would love a tutorial on what products will really make your eyes stand out!
Cover girl nature luxe mascara! I would definitely recommend this to beginners or otherwise! It's a mousse formula and it holds curl but feels really smooth!
The covergirl ultimate finish liquid powder is amazing because you can use it as a full foundation or as a concealer and it leaves skin matte like a powder
this really helps cause im just going to high school and makeup really interests me but i've never been a girly girl or anything, so im trying to transition slowly into makeup :)
I'm a junior in high school and I started wearing makeup almost everyday last year, but no foundation or blush...just eyeliner and mascara (and eyeshadow rarely). Some of you girls commenting are really young and while it's your choice, I think you should wait a bit too :)
OMG I AM SO HAPPY THAT YOU MADE THIS VIDEO!!! I HAVE WAITED SO LONG TO FINALLY HAVE A VIDEO LIKE THIS FOR BEGINNERS AND I LOVED IT! THANKS SO MUCH CHELSEA
The essence smooth lash is a very good mascara for beginners bc it's bold, but doesn't look too mature as the other stuff. I love your videos! And you are so inspirational :)
Hi, I think what you need to follow is the basic items that Chelsea presented for the starter kit. No need to have the exact brand. You can get the same items of your local drugstore brand. E.g. find brush set that contains what you need, mascara, eye shadow quad in neutral shades, BB Cream, setting powder, etc. Hope this helps.
I love the Great Lash Mascara by Maybelline. It's a great starter mascara, it's inexpensive, and it's great for the girls who just want definition without the heavy look. I prefer it over the other mascaras out there, but that's just me. :) I didn't personally wear anything makeup related until I was in 8th grade and I just wore eyeliner most of the time. All the rest I started using within the past 4 years and I'm 21. All you girls are beautiful with or without makeup! ♥
Hey CrazyBaby1508. The brushes are originally $99.99 but they have a 60% discount going on which makes them only $39.95. Have another look at the link. :-)
Baby Lips or Smoochies in a light shade are great they have a nice light sheer look and have a little color to make it more then a regular Chapstick and it had AMAZING hydration for your lips
I don't think you'll have to be any specific age to start makeup, however, if you're younger and a beginner you most likely want to keep your makeup really basic. You could start using a little mascara and lip gloss and gradually get into more and more makeup like facial products, and eye makeup products. When I first started I used white eye shadow to brighten my eyes and mascara. :)
I'm going into 7th grade and I'm gonna ask my mom if I can start wearing a little makeup!(: Im sooo excited for wearing makeup! I cant wait! This helped ALOT
when I was still in elementary school, my mom would let me go crazy with the lipsticks and lip gloss! it is the safest and most gentle to your skin, and the cheapest, to wear makeup :)
I really recommend the dream lumi concealer by maybelline such gives a nice highlight and helps your dark circles, the baby lips by maybelline which gives a nice light color to your lips winkle moisturizing them, and the rocket mascara! That's usually all I would wear in a normal day
Cream blush and maybe a highlight should be in the starter kit! If you want to go a little extreme then add a bronzer! They have some great trios from phisichians formula for bronzer blush and a higihlight
One of the brushes you have shown us is not just for your eye brows, its double sided, and the bristled side is for your eyebrows, and the hard plastic side is to separate your eye lashes after you have applied mascara. xxx
For blush I recommend one by Covergirl, their kind of like duo's but there is 3 pigments. And like you can blend them together and stuff and it's really good.
I suggest starting with neutrals- like brown eye liners, and skin color shadows, and work your way to he darker colors of u want, because people notice if you use dark colors at first. I learned that the hard way.
i have 16 and for school i just wear a little bit of eyeliner ,sometimes mascara but not alot and a a little bit of blush and thats all !! wearing too much makeup like everyday may have bad consequeses when you get older ...you dont wanna look like gradma when you have 25 ! for lips i just use lip gloss ,the ones from victoria secret are good !
If you're a beginner at makeup you should start off with lipgloss and eyeshadow and when you get older start getting into mascara and eyeliner then concealer and finally face products. When I first started I wore light eyeshadow and then mascara and started to get more into makeup by the years
I know that elf makes amazing blush and eye products, Maybelline for mascaras, rinmel makes great powders and eye pencils, and in y opinion, loreal makes the BEST foundations!:)
CityGirlXOX. Yes I agree :) I let her wear what she wants on her lips,. she likes pink and all flavored chap stick or lip gloss (so cute) I also let her play with eye shadow that's as far as it goes for make up for a few years.
I suggest, any BB creme because it's really light on your skin if your looking for a foundation, also if you are looking for cheap makeup products but they work good, I suggest elf!! I hope this helps anyone. Thumbs up this if anyone else agrees or if this helped anyone (:
hey chelsea i am sorry if i spelt it wrong but u are my roll model and i look up to u all the time i tell every one at school about u i was wondering if you could two updated routines morning and night
You need to do a how to start with become a beauty guru video. It could show like what camera to use what kind of video u should start out making and what kind of video editor should we use. ily thanks for all of these videos keep making them
Jordan, Im a mom and I know that all moms a very different but when my daughter comes to me 1st I would be sad because my little girl is growing up BUT :) I would not say no. I would compromise with her and let her start out with eye shadow or something we can agree on and it had to be more natural. So give it a shot, ask u never know, it might have already crossed her mind that u might ask soon. Also never assume what a parent thinks. Its better to know for sure then to assume :) Good Luck!!
I know this isn't her but here are some suggestions - a concealer for your under-eyes like dark circles and for all of you possible blemishes - then like she said a BB cream or a CC cream would be your best bet because they offer good enough coverage and are normally a reasonable price - a power for finishing your face makeup and to make your skin matte If you don't have thick lashes a mascara - some nude eye shadow and some lip gloss or chap! Just stay matte and use nude shades!
At 2:01 you said that side was an eyebrow comber but i have one and i think its actually supposed to be fore combing through your eyelashes to get rid of clumps from mascara, thats what i use it for anyway! :)
Good tips for beginners!

Im going to high school and I want to start wearing makeup and your videos have really helped me!

I'm a new subscriber but I just want to say that you're already one of my favorites! I like that you do videos that not everyone does here on TH-cam!
this really helps cause im just going to high school and makeup really interests me but i've never been a girly girl or anything, so im trying to transition slowly into makeup :)

I recommend baby lips because it has a light tint so it's not to bold and also it a moisturizer and that is great in this summer time
I love the Great Lash Mascara by Maybelline. It's a great starter mascara, it's inexpensive, and it's great for the girls who just want definition without the heavy look. I prefer it over the other mascaras out there, but that's just me. :)

I swear you look like a Disney princess but also the ecos brush kits are good places to start
when I was still in elementary school, my mom would let me go crazy with the lipsticks and lip gloss! it is the safest and most gentle to your skin, and the cheapest, to wear makeup :)
You're face looks super clear! You should do an acne video explaining products you use and tips. That would be super helpful.
If you have undereye circles, then use NYX Concealer. Its full coverage and is only like 5 bucks. I love it!
I really liked that you showed what eat brush was for... Thank you : )
I love the elf eyeliner your wearing! I tried it yesterday, and it works soooooo WELLLLL! Love you Chels!
I just realized your channel was the first channel I saw my first makeup vid!
I really recommend the dream lumi concealer by maybelline such gives a nice highlight and helps your dark circles, the baby lips by maybelline which gives a nice light color to your lips winkle moisturizing them, and the rocket mascara! That's usually all I would wear in a normal day
Thank you so much even my dad Is liking my make up and he's really uptight. You are such a huge inspiration
YOUR SKIN LOOKS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL CHEALSEA!!
You are by far my favourite beauty guru, you are so helpful and you are really beautiful
You are gorgeous!!!!! And I love how natural your makeup looks in this!
Cream blush and maybe a highlight should be in the starter kit! If you want to go a little extreme then add a bronzer! They have some great trios from phisichians formula for bronzer blush and a higihlight
For a starter kit (like very first) I'd recommend just a mascara, concealer, and a Neutral eyeshadow quad/trio. Maybe a tinted lip balm
For someone who's starting out, the Maybelline Color Tattoos and the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner in Black are AWESOME!!!
i cant wait till back to school time is here u make so many helpful videos
Im 12 and just recently started wearing makeup, and this video was a huge help for me, so thanks!(:
One of the brushes you have shown us is not just for your eye brows, its double sided, and the bristled side is for your eyebrows, and the hard plastic side is to separate your eye lashes after you have applied mascara. xxx
Dream bouncy blush is great and it's vibrant and slightly pigmented so I highly suggest it!:D
I recommend baby lips they have just the right amount of tint and they're also good as a Chapstick.
I'm in love with your editing on this video!
i have 16 and for school i just wear a little bit of eyeliner ,sometimes mascara but not alot and a a little bit of blush and thats all !! wearing too much makeup like everyday may have bad consequeses when you get older ...you dont wanna look like gradma when you have 25 ! for lips i just use lip gloss ,the ones from victoria secret are good !
i am 12 about to go 13 this year and i loved this vid plz do more of these things ! :D

Also the elf brushes are really good!
Great video and tips Chelsea, as always! I really recommend baby lips to everyone!!
I'm a sigh grader and I get to wear makeup this year thank you 4 doing this!!!
Your skin is looking flawless!
This was so helpful! Next time I got to the store I'm going to get all of that!
I recommend the elf 150 eyeshadow palette which is only $15, and the elf makeup artist collection which costs $20. That's what got me started
OMG i have been looking for that same hair bow! Where did you get it? Sorry i have just been trying to find that hair bow for weeks.
I would recommend the Maybelline baby lips or covergirl lip smoochies because you give you light sheer color! (:
Your makeup looks flawless In this video
CityGirlXOX.
Yes I agree :)
I let her wear what she wants on her lips,. she likes pink and all flavored chap stick or lip gloss (so cute)
I also let her play with eye shadow that's as far as it goes for make up for a few years.
I wish I had makeup.... You influenced me, thank you so much. You are my inspiration I love you and I love your videos
I suggest, any BB creme because it's really light on your skin if your looking for a foundation, also if you are looking for cheap makeup products but they work good, I suggest elf!! I hope this helps anyone. Thumbs up this if anyone else agrees or if this helped anyone (:
That is so perfect for younger audiences!! Good job! -Alicia
Your hair looks super cute you should do a video on how you did it! If you haven't already
hey chelsea i am sorry if i spelt it wrong but u are my roll model and i look up to u all the time i tell every one at school about u i was wondering if you could two updated routines morning and night

Nice makeup choices!! By the way, no one forget to pray for sweet little Talia! God will take good care of her, everyone make a little prayer!

Thank you for helping me my mom is letting be weare makeup when I turn 13 I'm 12 1/2 I can't wait !!!
i recommend elf pressed powders. all of them are nice tones.
your face looks really clear Chelsea !
At 2:01 you said that side was an eyebrow comber but i have one and i think its actually supposed to be fore combing through your eyelashes to get rid of clumps from mascara, thats what i use it for anyway! :)
For starters, a concealer that is good is the Maybelline Fitme concealer or garnier anti dark circle roller
the hairstyle that you wore in this video i think its super cute and would love to know how to do it!!
I love your hair!! Can you do a tutorial?
Hey Chelsea I think lip alms are good for starters and you should do celebrity inspired looks
Your makeup in this video is so pretty!
Maybe a makeup tutorial with these products? Especially eyeshadow I'm not very good with that. Also, would you recommend blush for beginners?
Your eyebrows reminded me I need to get my done :( because your are pretty their natural!!
Well, I'll be 26 on monday and as much as I love eye shadow, I need alot of help with it. lol thanks for the recommendations :)
thank you, i have been trying to find a good video on how to bu make ups,, you had them all, i appreciate it
Omg the "beautilicious insider" whisper at the beginning killed me.
The first mascara I used was the cover girl natureluxe. It wasn't to dramatic, but it still did the job.
i really like the revlon creme eye shadow quads, and u dont need a brush to put them on u can just use ur fingers :)
I just finished re-aranging my room and it need some decorations. Please do a DIY on some crafts to jazz up a room
my birthday was not long ago and I got that revelon lash potion mascara and it is absolutely awesome!!!!!
i think you should do a video on where the makeup should go and how to apply it :)
