The woman from the painting from IT chapter 2 or Pennywise if you haven't already done him I don't know what the woman is called but she's really spooky and I'd really enjoy to see your take on their designs
The original nursery rhyme was not to be all “cutesy” like it’s sometimes portrayed. If you think about Ring around the Rosey was based off the Scarlet Fever and also used during the Plague, the Pied Piper in towns square was actually a mad man who killed children. The list goes on. It’s only in the past 40-50 years that nursery rhymes have taken on a totally different concept. Your very creepy crooked man turned out very neat.
It's interesting that creepy nursery rhymes seem to be an international thing. A German one for example ends with "and so God wants, you'll wake up again."
Ring Around a Rosey one is a common misconception. The rhyme dates back way further than than many think, and originally started as just a game for children. One of many similar ones. The connection to the plagues and fevers were not made until the 17-18th century. As for the Pied Piper, that one is always pretty clear. But any actual records were lost in the 17th century. But it is known to have dated back to the 14th.
Yeah these were all created when we taught kids that life was brutal. Nowadays we lose our shits andget collective regulations passed if someone says swears in a PG movie.
My wife and I used to watch you all the time before she passed away from Covid in January. She wanted to start doing this but never got the chance to. I just want to thank you for helping create awesome memories.
I love seeing these horror-themed sculptures. I love being able to see these horror movie monsters come to life at a smaller scale. Besides the humanoid monsters from these movies, there's also this really interesting one from the 2017 movie "The Ritual" called Moder, which is a Jotunn inspired by Norse mythology. Even if you don't sculpt it, the movie itself is definitely worth checking out
The crooked man is the most interestingly designed creature I’ve seen in that franchise so far! Wish they’d used it more. Your work is incredible as always ❤️
I honestly find your voice so soothing that sometimes, when I'm struggling to sleep, I put on some of your old videos to fall asleep to and it works wonders lol I hope I'm not the only one, and that you do not take it as an insult because it is not at all!
Total clay noob here! Would love to see a video breaking down all your frequently used tools and what you use each one for! Sometimes I’m not sure what would be the best way to smooth something in a tight spot, or how to best carve out a particular detail, etc etc. Love your channel, thanks for all the great content!
You said the begining of the poem. Heres the full poem: There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse And they all lived together in a little crooked house He met a crooked woman and he found a crooked preach They had a crooked marriage on a crooked little beach They had some crooked children and they lived a crooked life The crooked man, the cat, the mouse, the children and the wife They were happy for a number of crookedly long years Lived a life of crooked happiness, no worries and no fears Until one day the crooked wife upset the crooked man He yelled a crooked yell and then he hit her and he ran The crooked man came again at the stroke of twelve That was when their crooked life became a living hell There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile And when he killed his wife and kids he smiled a crooked smile
For those who actually care no, what Draw 2Death posted is not the original rhyme. the original rhyme is the one that Ace of clay said in the beginning of the video, that was the first printed version by James Orchard Halliwell and no, the rhyme is not about a murderer it is actually believed to be about Scottish General Sir Alexander Leslie and politics regarding parliaments of England and Scotland. It's only in recent times have peopled decided to change the rhyme into something more sinister. Not every rhyme is sinister, the crooked man is just a political based rhyme nothing more, nothing less..
@@terri3715 I never see ur reply before I did we must of replied at the same time. That explains why I’d never heard that version and only the first verse thank you for setting me straight! But…….. I do love this version also, I just won’t be teaching the rest of it to my kids, they only know the original!
I would absolutely love to see The Bat Who Laughs in your sculpting style. Maybe even a background or diorama adding a type of unique contrasting of dynamic aspects.
Oh my goodness! I haven't heard that nursery rhyme since I was an little girl! I remember doing jump rope in time with the rhyme. I wish some of your characters were not from dark sources. I would love to see you do some of the Avenger or Guardians of the Galaxy or some other fun characters like that. Would you consider it please Ace? Maybe do one non spooky or horror character out of every five spooky ones, that way it's fair to everybody. Please consider it. God bless you and your family.
I got so excited when I saw this! I'm in love with the character and memorized the poem by heart, and this looks awesome! It would be awesome to see you go back to some Trevor Henderson creatures, such as God of Roadkill.
When you mentioned at the end that you have sculpted so many tuxedos, I had a flash 💡 idea; I think it would be really neat to see you sculpt a bride and groom (cake topper) ! I'd also love to see you do some deep resin dioramas 😁👍
Well, now I know who’s invading my dreams tonight… 😓 Awesome job, Anthony!!! I would love to see you make the Other Mother from Coraline, but the version where she’s all creepy spider!!!
Hi ace of clay. You did a fantastic job. I remember a nursery rhythm as a kid of the crocked man. The rhythm you mentioned was the nursery rhythm I heard in my childhood . It's surprising what you remember years later.
I know that poem! Awesome job! I still think it would be fantastic if you did the empty child from Doctor Who. There are a ton of characters that could be fun too
Please make other conjuring characters! Your abilities are so good. If you turn this into a series of sculpts when you're done could you possibly make the RE3 remake version of the NE-Alpha parasite?
The Crooked Man is my favorite thing from the Conjuring series. I love a classic bogeyman, and he also kind of looks like a host for some horror show targeted for kids.
He's literally the only reason I watched the Conjuring 2 movie, he looks like something straight out of a Tim Burton film come to life, which in my opinion gives him more charm😊
he looks marvelous! this video was randomly suggested to me by the algorithm gods on my homepage and i'm so glad it took me here. he looks amazing! a nice, scary, little man! absolute terror🖤
oh hell yeah! He looks fantastic and I'm pleasantly surprised to see you sculpt him ❤ the conjuring 2 is definitely one of my go to horror movies. even if it is just background noise
I'm Pretty sure the Crooked Man shows up in Mike Mignola's Comics masterwork Hellboy. From what I remember, he's quite scary in that. Sculpture looks sick man.
Love the video, best sculpting channel hands down out of all I am subbed to. So I see you did the Crooked Man,awesome and creepy, now can you do a 12" version of the NUN from the same movie. She is by far the creepiest of all the conjuring movies 🎬
I’ve not heard that rhyme for years and now thinking of it as an adult who loves horror, that’s creepy af and I can see how they’ve turned it into a horror 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Well, I know what I will be watching the rest of the night 🙂 I will be falling asleep to a new channel tonight (due to a childhoodtrauma I cant fall asleep unless Im watching or listening to something)
Wow you do amaze me on how much detail you put into your figurines with the tools you use it looks fantastic, Plus can you make a video on what tools are better to use on fine details like clothing plus the face I would find that very interesting and would not be surprised if a lot of your followers would to.
This turned out really cool. Any chance you could share how you get your armature to stay put in its base? Like, are you just bending the wire over under the wood?
What a great job master! Without a doubt you have managed to achieve the essence of a character that I love and terrifies me at the same time, The conjuring was one of the first horror movies I saw and I spent several days without sleeping hahahaha, I was 15 years old then I think. It is a marvel of sculpture. Teacher, I wanted to ask you if you would give some tips or work order so that my sculptures are better. I look forward to your response, receive a big hug!
I mentioned this on the FNaF Sun video, but I think it bears repeating. Doing long, thin lines is a lot easier with long bristle brushes like liner or rigger brushes. It takes practice, but it's worth it for the smooth line quality.
Do you bake in a standard oven? If so, do you lay your characters down to bake them? They are so tall so I'm wondering how they fit in a standard oven or if you have a different oven to bake them in. Your pieces are amazing by the way.
Hi Ace of Clay! I have an idea of what you could make next that I think would be awesome! You should crate the rat king from the 2012 series of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! His face is so detailed and scary and I think you’d be awesome at it!
Surprised you didn’t do a wash of black over him stir the end! Not familiar with this character so maybe he doesn’t need it haha just was expecting it. Great job as usual Anthony!!
Love the sculpture so much! I don’t know how they’re going to give the Crooked Man his own character when he’s literally just an incarnation of Valak. Like how are they going to make the work?
If you watched (I am sure i've watched it! :D ) Dead Silence you could do Mary Shaw in her "puppet" form in the funeral home! Damn that was such a great and creepy movie! "Beware the stare of Mary Shaw. She had no children, only dolls. If you see her in your dreams, be sure you never, ever scream or she'll rip your tongue out at the seam."
I'd love to see you do sculptures from labyrinth (the David Bowie one), like the worm who says 'Allo. Also to see what you'd do as a rabbit with big pointy teeth (Monty python and the holy grail) in your style.
Let me know what you think of The Crooked Man!! Who should I make next??
Check me out on TikTok @aceofclay
The Mind Flayer from Stranger Things 3
The woman from the painting from IT chapter 2 or Pennywise if you haven't already done him
I don't know what the woman is called but she's really spooky and I'd really enjoy to see your take on their designs
Grady Twins from The Shining
Giant toad and pale man from Pan's labyrinth
Pale Man from Pans labyrinth whould be sick.

I'd guess 70-80 years, because there's no way that different nursery rhymes became cutesy mainstream things only a few years before I was born.

No I love that!
I watch his videos to sleep too!! I’ll put them on before bed and especially on days when I cant sleep and I fall into sleep so quick!
Literally doing this right now, it always takes me at least half a video to remember I'm not supposed to be reading comments though, lol
I’m usually days if not weeks late on these things, looking forward to watching this!
Same
Joke
The Crooked Man was my favorite part of that movie-and it's one of my favorite horror movies! I really wish we could have seen more of him!
That rough texture on his face turned out so nice.
It would be cool to see the nun aswell
Ahh 🤩 it is awesome

im not an expert, but i tend to use silicone shapers or a ball stylus for smoothing in tight spaces!

The crooked man, the cat, the mouse, the children and the wife
They were happy for a number of crookedly long years
Lived a life of crooked happiness, no worries and no fears

The crooked man came again at the stroke of twelve
That was when their crooked life became a living hell

the poem is about the political alliance between the english and scottish parliaments in the 17th century so no, that’s not the full version lol

OMG! I love it. I think you should make samara from the ring. It's my favorite horror character
maaan crooked man is so cool, definitely my favorite creature from the series
I love that you gave a shout out to Clay Claim when you used the pointy spoon tool. Artists supporting artists. Love it.👍🤘
i was having a bad day until I watched your video and it totally made my day way better

What I loved the most about this video is how enthousiastic you seemed about this project ! 🥰❤
I always wanted to see the crooked man in a clay statue form!!! I love this and the conjuring!!!
Thanks for blurring the thumbnail! I like the surprise at the end! 💕
I got so excited when I saw this! I'm in love with the character and memorized the poem by heart, and this looks awesome! It would be awesome to see you go back to some Trevor Henderson creatures, such as God of Roadkill.

Very good, Sir!

I love it. I almost feel that it will start moving at any moment, which is so cool.
He's so creeptastic! love him.
Your sculpting skills are always amazing and something I love to watch.
I'm literally watching Wolf Among Us with Bigby Wolf confronting the Crooked Man
I was expecting the rpg maker crooked man with an upside down neck. This is really cool though and a GREAT pose
I would LOVE to see you make The Mysterious Stranger from the Adventures of Mark Twain. His face is a mask held in his hand.
Well, now I know who’s invading my dreams tonight… 😓
Awesome job, Anthony!!!
I would love to see you make the Other Mother from Coraline, but the version where she’s all creepy spider!!!
He looks Terrifyingly Incredible, can you try Poppy?
Hey - his feet aren’t flat and parallel to each other! Love him. ✌🏻🎨☕️
He is absolutely awesome!
How dare you be this talented
Well done, dear! Your work with sculpted fabric is delightful.
Growing up and to this day my nightmare character was the Babadook. I’d love to see your sculpting interpretation of the character!!
Hi ace of clay. You did a fantastic job. I remember a nursery rhythm as a kid of the crocked man. The rhythm you mentioned was the nursery rhythm I heard in my childhood . It's surprising what you remember years later.
The actor who plays the crooked man is Javier Botet, who's also played other horror icons, check him out! He's amazing
Looks amazing! I loooove the Conjuring creatures. How about Annabelle or the Nun next? A whole Conjuring series 😄
I know that poem! Awesome job! I still think it would be fantastic if you did the empty child from Doctor Who. There are a ton of characters that could be fun too
The Labyrinth characters!!! Ludo! Hoggle!! The Worm!! The Fire Catchers!!
