Great coverage boys. Tuning in From Australia. It seems this year is a very different race. With such a lead so early is I think very different from prior years. Love to see Daniel win this to hold up the Aussie flag. Good travels to all - two down and shiny side up.
Guys I love the podcast! Please consider changing the camera angle on Quinn by bringing it on the other side of the table, same as Jesse (180 degree rule). Then framing the image using using the first and last thirds (rule of thirds). The video will look more natural and easy to follow.
Hey Jesse! Awesome 👍Dakar coverage as usual but could you lose the screen behind you? For us easily distracted old guys, it detracts from your excellent commentary.
Question, whats you favorite flavor of toast, both of you and any racers that get interviewed, Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿!!!! Much love guys glad to be tuning in again this year lets go Dakar!!!!
The inverted start on 2a, difficult navigation both days, and the time bonuses on 2b are going to make for an epic stage. Some riders could come out of this with some serious time gained and vice versa some serious time lost by some riders, as well.
Although I'm sure strategy will still come into play, I appreciate Chucky is mostly a "I'll win the stage" guy, rather than "I'll come fourth today because" guy. Dropping time across the event isn't really that smart, it only takes one complication for that to combine into a gap you can't close at the end. I felt Price, as great as he is, was far too strategic over the last couple of years and it cost him the win when X inevitably happened. Just win the thing, every time 😅
I just traded a jeep YJ last weekend for a ‘21 YZ450F, I’m a 2 smoke guy, this 450 exploded my mind. So today on my Dez ride I wondered “where is Yamaha?” I would imagine this YZ platform would eat Saudi Arabia up.
They need too much work to be competitive, the engine needs massive work, the gearbox is only 5 speed and so on. There was only one Yamaha entered and it came in 34th from 81 finishers. Fantic build a production rally bike on the Yamaha base model and enter a factory team, six entered and the best was 25th place. Without a purpose-built new engine and chassis it will be hard to see Yamaha do anything.
Yes, as @catch22iscrazy mentioned Sandra Gomez is the only female on the motorcycle this year, we can find. She's a legend in Hard Enduro and Enduro. Looking forward to seeing her perform out there. Also notable, Laia Sanz, who is in her 15th Dakar this year (Most of those are on bikes) just abandoned after suffering too much damage to her car. This is her first withdrawal from the race, ever. That's an incredible record!
Amazing updates thank you ! Was really looking forward to this podcast this year after following via you last. Keep up the great work!

Jordan Strachan with Kove is in 51st and is the only Canadian in the race from BC! His forearms are shredded also from cactus. Go Jordan!

Seems like people are having issues with the electronic roadbook? Are they getting any time credits for any glitches? Great pod thank you!!
