The rotary encoders have been fixed on the C5. The display and top ribbon are also the same for C5 as ePedal. My C5 is of one of the first batches. Info acquired via Drew Downing on FB. Thank you.
Ive seen a few reviews, under certain settings im sure, measure the peak torque is actually upwards of 9nm. Dirt rally 2 shows this well. Maxing out the C5 feels much stronger to me than a maxed out DD CSL. I know pure force isnt everything and there are finer details in the csl overall, but with the right settings the C5 isnt far off.
@@FellowshipOfTheAviatorZ I can believe that. But unfortunately I cant measure it. I did run it by Cammus and they aknowledged 7. Nonetheless, like you say, it feels as strong as a CSL DD 8 and perhaps even stronger. That is also my observation. Thanks for sharing.👍
@@SimulatedDrivingResource settings play such a huge part in how this wheel feels in my experience. To an almost unfriendly to the user level.. You get it wrong it literally feels like you're breaking it and my entire frame rumbles more than I've ever felt. You get it right, it's actually a pretty amazing little piece of kit that in some cases feels better than the csl. It's a moody little fkr, that's all I know, lol Great vid on it.
I like the concept, great for people who are space constrained and can't build a dedicated rig. Main issue with camnus is availability, you can get moza at many online retailers these days, where you know exactly how expensive shipping will be and how long it will take, and they can take care of warranty stuff for you.
@@givemeajackson absolutely correct. However, more retailers are picking it up. Until a month ago, there was no retailer in my region to offer Cammus but now there is Megekko. They did add 100€ to the price though. The cost of service I guess 😕
@@SimulatedDrivingResource yeah the moza stuff i can get at my retailer is also priced a bit higher than the prices on their own website, but i've had my share of customs fee horror stories that i'd rather pay a little extra and not have any surprises. 100 is a bit much though. but it's nice to see that they're pushing for that. one of the main reasons i completely skipped fanatec is cause they don't have any retail channels, and a crappy track record of shipping.
Absolutely. It is the most reoccurring comment for the C5 and will be by extension the Epedal. Did you upload your design to Thingiverse to share? If so, would you mind sharing it here so I can pin this comment?
Haha I like the comment about divorced parents. Divorced may be but if you have parents who buy you that kind of toy along with love and efforts to have you visit the other parent, the kid could do much much worse in this world. Excellent review of a new company product that doesn't have marketing power of moza and others like it.
Absolutely. I remember that I took my desktop and CRT monitor sometimes from my mother to my father. It was a hassle so features like this, I can really appreciate.
for me i just think the cammus is quite ugly and limited in terms of changing the wheel rim. The price and quality is far better than other offerings though

I noticed they did a revision to their 15nm ddwb. I feel it desperately needs a 2024 re-visit that base
I noticed some physical changes and a few firmware updates. will look into that one. Thanks man
The shifters are fragile! Luckily I have a 3D printer so I printed larger and sturdier shifter paddles.

@@SimulatedDrivingResource I didin't design them myself, I bought them from Cults3d. User DARK-SKULL sells them for 5 eur.

@@RennyChuggs it's an acquired taste, I can't argue with you on that one 😇
