- Wake up guys the new DLC just dropped, we now have the Pirate King himself and a new TPWK stage for standard runs. This is a very difficult stage with max level enemies that actually hurt, a much needed step up from the outdated True Pirate Warriors Special Log stage. I'm still learning the nuances of the new stage but I'm hoping to start doing a few more characters in the future, so stay tuned.
Now for the character writeup, Roger himself is truly one of the best characters in the game with insane damage, guard breaks, and huge AOE. He takes advantage of the Power type really well as he uses a Smash Attack focused playstyle for optimal efficiency.
C1 is going to be your main spam button to deal ranged damage and charge specials. If you're outside of FFB you can hold the button to charge it for extra effect, and once you're in FFB it will always have the charged effect. By the way C2 is an instant guard break just in case you wanted even more guard damage, because Roger can't have too much guard damage.
As for specials, Risk Death is a decently strong ranged slash, and Kamusari is your strongest ranged slash that pretty much kills everything in front of you. You will want to mostly just use those three skills - C1, Risk Death, Kamusari, rotate them by building gauge with C1 and spending it with specials. That's pretty much Roger in a nutshell.
If things are still alive you can use Conqueror's Strike to finish them off. Technically Conqueror's Strike is stronger than Kamusari but it has really bad range so Kamusari should still be your main damage button.

Nice video! The way you brought the Yonko’s together in the beginning was genius and is the best way to approach this as a speedrun! It also helps lower our Hp faster too. Definitely gotta try this strategy

PW3 is full of special quotes, character to character, PW4? I see only 3 or 4 in free roam.
That's the problem with DLC characters.
PW3 only had DLC costumes and missions, but still the base game had a lot of content.

Exactly how does peerless strength words because it says for “smashing attacks” so I assumed it’s perfect for white beard
Peerless Strength and Giant Fist both affect Smash Attacks which are the ones where you knock enemies into each other and they bounce around. Every character has different moves that do Smash.
@@Raisuru How does worked up skill extends the gear 5 skill exactly?
@@iii7172 Worked up extends duration of FFB and Transformation by 1 second every x hits, so it's good to use on characters with high hit count. Gear 5 I think has a unique extension mechanic that is on top of that.
Isn't the shatter skill not needed for Roger since he can break guards very easily? I've just been reading about that in the OPPW4 Reddit Community so I was wondering if it was true or not but I mean you are using it in a sample build so i guess it wouldnt be bad if you just wanted to waste a skill slot
Shatter isn't that good, honestly you can take something else if you like.

Yes, it applies to everything up to a 5x multiplier cap
Is giant fist and peerless strength stacks? I thought you can only have one
They do stack. However there is a global damage cap if you run Cheat Death at low enough health

not sure, but maybe like in pw3 there's an atk cap so you could use life regen
There is an atk cap with a multiplier of 500% of your damage. But he uses everything in attack to be able to do more damage at the beginning while not being below a certain life threshhold. Life regen wouldnt be profitable since it takes away skill slots and also cancels the insane boost the skill "cheat death" is giving
@@jacksarrow8215that’s why cheat death can really be your best friend. It truly helps a lot. I was destroying sht on this playthrough. I’m so glad we get to play as Roger and young garp. They didn’t miss with this one.🔥
Playing with Gol D makes it an unfair fight. Didn't even level him up and walked through levels
imagine running into battle clamming you cant be beat bc your this or on that crew and youre facing Gol.D roger lol. ida paid extra 10 bucks for them to add new unique dialog responses to him. actual ones.

@@Juanpvcool i guess that's the difference between lvl 18 and lvl 30. I couldn't even get past half hp bar with my best character without running out of time
@@izzatIHH55 If you use a good build you can do it too with a level 18. I did it multiple times with lvl. 18 Oden, it took a while but it is doable. Good luck😎✌️.

as the strongest giant character in the game, yeah it's not really fair. but it's almost fair, and it's scary. roger definitely feels like the strongest non-giant by far. at worst roger is top 10 but he's easily top 5
