Scary situation, but you are lucky it didn’t have a worse ending. Surprised this hasn’t happened before because there are a lot of creeps in this world. Be smart and safe out there.
As a Kazakh myself, I find that very disturbing and quite sad. I just feel horrible about it. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Even though I am from the Almaty, I still don’t feel 100% safe. I feel disgusted by that man, the only time I would call someone the ‘r’ word. Next time when you’re in other less populated cities, better book hotels and never cheap out on safety. At least never travel alone
You are so lucky because most of the time it turns violent. This guy coming back 3am in the morning obviously with bad intensions, and by you telling him no and pushing him, I am so glad he didnt put his hands on you. I m not saying its good this happened to you, but at least now you will be more aware of people's intensions. Please be careful in your future travels. ❤❤
Hi Valerie, you are so courageous and brave girl to overcome this type of situation when you are alone. All the best and i pray for your safe journey. Your passion for Travel and Explore the unseen world around us. Happy Journey🙏👍
So glad it didn't escalate into an even worse experience. When I watched your video this morning I was sick to my stomach with worry. This was a learning experience for sure, but with time it will not have the place in your heart it does today. Thanks for sharing. I'm new to the channel, but I love your spirit and will continue to enjoy your journey. ❤🙏
I have traveled all over the world, but am embarrassed to say usually like a tourist, with friends or family and within a safe comfort zone. So I admire what you’re doing…traveling solo in a manner that provides a raw experience and more connection with people and places. Traveling like this must be extremely rewarding but does present risks. Traveling alone requires a strong spirit and a sense of independence which you seem to have in abundance. Your parents must be excited for you but also a bit worried. Glad you’re taking a level-headed approach and taking necessary precautions without losing the raw, satisfying experience.
Well I come from the neighbouring country and this city is quite close to us so kind of similar culture and ppl and stuff. And I’m not gonna go into too much details. But this behav is not unusual unfortunately in our countries. This is not that part of Asia that i saw you visited and ppl especially in rural areas can be not that good (esp men) and there are a lot of “hungry” men (esp for a good looking young woman) there cause of many limitations, the way they’re brought up, poverty and many other issues. So just for the future cause I saw you’re planning to visit other “stan” countries. I was born and grew up here. Be super super super careful especially in rural areas of this kind of men. I’m not even talking about camping alone on the field in the dark where no one can hear you or help you. Obviously I would suggest to avoid such type of living. But also in normal life at night especially be careful. Honestly you were super lucky nothing happened to you and he left. I heard so many bad stories and I don’t want to scare you. But please be cautious and try not to be alone at night. In rural areas be twice more Cautious. Also be super cautious of your belongings.
People say my comments are discrimination and Islamphobia. But let's face the facts, in many non-western culture around the world, men grew up and were taught since they are a small child that men is superior to women, men is the one that make big decision and do great things. Especially in Muslim countries, I have Muslim friends too, they are the one that told me this.
I am so sorry you have been subjected to this, no one should be subjected to such a thing no matter where in the world you are. I myself was robed and attack in Uganda and know how it is, having to find yourself again, there is something that falls apart and it takes time. I also had to go with a knife, long after and even though it is now many years ago, there are still situations where I get heart palpitations. Love you story, and hope to see a lot more❤❤❤
Bonjour...
It is a shame this happened to you. You meet so many wonderful people, and show so many beautiful places and smiles of people and yourself you share. I sure hope you can continue happily exploring, and sharing with those of us who will never see those places. Cheers, kiddo!
What a horrible experience. I’m sorry you had that type of an encounter. Being safe is always something that is a priority. I like the way you shared the boundaries you’ve going to implement. Be safe and thank you for this week’s post🫶🏻🏕️
You are very lucky that person in the car left you alone thank God i must say you're English is very clear if I was there i would of knocked him out you are a very beautiful lady who doesn't deserve that treatment im so sorry for you please be safe ❤️
You are too beautiful to travel alone and its very dangerous what you did in some countries. Travel safe dear. May God always protect you in your journey
So sad to hear this happen to you, such a bad experience but it can happen anywhere. Whilst cycling through italy solo, i met two fellow cyclist that decided to tag along with me as they felt they needed a male presence due to some of the experiences that had happened and unwanted attention. Be careful travelling alone but as you said you should learn from the experience as indeed 99.9% of the time people are good. Just take precautions so you dont meet the 0.1%. Keep it up love your video since i saw your one in taiwan!
Ah, thank you for being a safe person for the other two! My friend and I were once two young women traveling by backpack and train together through Italy, and though we had each other, there were moments where we did not feel entirely safe and would have no choice but to look for a safe man to walk along with for a while.
Hey, good to see you here))) I am watching your videos first time. You are doing a great job. Anyway be careful wherever you go. Sleeping alone in a tent, in different county is too dangerous. Next time if you come to Kazakhstan let me know, I will show beautiful places round.
This reminds me of an experience of Rosie Gabrielle in the north of Pakistan, at least her's experience was good. she was camping at night in the wild and the nearest police post saw her flashlight, so they approached her tent. She was scared the same way, but later relieved that the police were very friendly and offered her some biscuits.
thats good that ur safe, u gotta be careful especially when travelling and camping in random places because , there are some people who have bad intentions and we dont know what might happen. keep safe always
I really liked that you shared your guidelines and even the thought to create them instead of shutting down or putting up boundaries. I am struggling with a similar situation whilst travelling and it really shook me! Im similar and smile and love to connect with locals. But yes the gut instinct one… I’ve been telling myself that lately…. Listen to your gut always. Keep going gal! You’re inspiring me for my next adventure ❤
Thank you dear ❤️ I’m sorry you’ve had a similar experience. There are so many good people in this world but unfortunately there are a few bad ones that shouldn’t stop us from traveling solo. All the best for you🫶
I do a lot of stealth camping and would've pitched my tent behind those bushes I saw to the right of the horses, or something similar. Always find a spot where you cannot be seen easily from the road.
You really showed amazing courage thereby inspiring and motivating lots of women out there to go and experience the world as it is. I wish you all the best for your upcoming journey, you really are an amazing person. Hope you come India Mumbai❤ ❤❤😊
It's sad to hear that in my country still have situations like this... I feel infinite embarastment for my compatriots.I hope you travel safe in future because next countries you try to visit have somewhat same problem if not more.
So sorry that happened to you good for you for standing up for your self and i agree with you wamen have rights and all men should have respect for women so happy to see you are okay you are so awesome and cool and sweet I wish you the best my friend
Valerie my advice to you is don't always travel alone bcuz this contents or adventure vlogs traveling anywhere in the world is very dangerous with all by yourself, there are many bad people everywhere at any time. when i saw that the farmer enter in your tent i feel so angry . you must have to complaint in police station about him. i am from INDIA we respect your feelings .
Valerie, I think that such situations will happen. I was very worried about you. It's better to say that you are traveling with a friend. It’s better not to give your phone to anyone. Write what you wanted and show it. If you are in a tent, try not to go out and not pay attention and place it away from the road so that it is not visible.
Be very careful in post Soviet Union countries. Nobody must don’t know your bedplace at night. After Shymkent you need to go in Tashkent. It’s my Motherland. But be very careful in Central Asia brave and mad girl. God save you.
I love how watching your videos, but as a father of a 5 year old girl this was tough to watch. If you really are traveling completely alone, I hope you are much more careful. There are so many people who can't be trusted in this world. Wishing you the best.

J'ai découvert votre chaîne aujourd'hui, je me suis quand même abonné même si vous ne faites plus de vidéo depuis 6 mois... Soyez prudente! Bye!😉
Even in movies I don't expect such a turn of events. That was a horrible . It could happen to anyone and you overcame it with your confidence . Keep travelling . Nothing to be afraid much. Mental trauma it causes is too severe. I'm just as helpless you are just watching this video. Why don't the person committing crimes don't even think 1% from angle of the victim 😑. Totally unpredictable. Be brave as you are
Valerie, are you German or just live there ? That guy was a pervert. I guess you didn't sleep at all, after that situation. Sprechen Sie Deutch ? I traveled from the U.S. to Germany but I stayed with a family. You have a good instinct. I hope that guy didn't take any of your joy away. I think you should carry a very small gun, I am a man & I would feel I need to for just personal protection. I do subscribe, but I'm glad you spoke the reminder about a thumbs up. Because I almost forgot to do it. Keep up your spirit and the super way that you travel. I wish I could be brave enough to try what you do. You are amazing. Stay very safe. Bruce from Cincinnati, Ohio U.S.A.
Oh damn. I was angry and sad and very dissaappointed with these kind of people. Please be safe out there. Not everyone out there is friendly. Carry pepper spray, electronic 120 decbel alarm , small knife (multi-tool) and if you cant carry or have any these try to make make-shift weapons you can get around your enviroment or location. A lighter and hair spray so you have a small flame thrower, get a small bottle/bag of fine black peppers or ccayenne pepper get that in your oppenents eyes and he will be out for a long time and give you time to get the heck out. Get a little bit of self-defence class, it is a wild world out there. Oh one more thing, dont just accept any drinks from anyone! Don't want to you hurt and at the same time not scare you but be safe ok. Attention to detail is your best defence ok Ok good luck Valerie, Stay safe and may God guide you to your journey, take care 😇
I am rather shocked about the gnorance of the people here to encourage a female solo traveller to carry on asking for troubles. This is irresponsible. I am hoping not to be proves true. You got a clear warning now and should understand it, that you might have no second chance. Travveling solo as a women is very risky! You did learn that hopefully!
Please be careful and be more cautious not to put yourself in harms way. It is basically putting yourself vulnerable to such harm even though it is not your intention and you trust people easily but this could still happen. I know this is your content but even places that you perceive friendly and safe there will be people that will be planning bad things. It could happen to any places that you travel.
O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner. i think you should always carry a weapon for safety ware ever you go, there will always be the good, the bad and the ugly in people
Maybe he offered you something to eat? but you misunderstood, people here even like to help too much. or he thought you were in trouble.🤣🤣🤣
That’s crazy… I’m really sorry this happened, hope it’s the last time 🤍
Thank you Cere 🙏🏻 I hope so too
@@Journeyious always safe

I want to safeguard together.. and travel the world..can I travel together
The world is a very dengerous place for a girl traveling alone
I wouldnt recommend to hitchhike or camp in Kazakhstan, it is not safe
Please be careful and be more cautious not to put yourself in harms way. It is basically putting yourself vulnerable to such harm even though it is not your intention and you trust people easily but this could still happen. I know this is your content but even places that you perceive friendly and safe there will be people that will be planning bad things. It could happen to any places that you travel.
Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 32:
O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner.
