Friends, today I am sharing information on Different types of RICE | Rice Types | Indian Rice Types | Various Types of Rice |ચોખાના પ્રકારો | ચોખાની જાતો.
Today in this video I tried to cover all types of rice I could find in market and tried to cover each little information about each. I have also covered the rice types for diabetic. I have also shown the method to store the rice for whole year.
One thing, when I was gathering details and information about various rice types available and used in Gujarat, I felt that, enough details are not available in document form or electronic form on internet. It was quiet disappointing. Though I tried to collect information about each rice type through various sources like books, library, internet, parents, relatives, traders etc...I request you to add on to this information if you know something better and useful in comment section. I will be thankful. I hope you would like this informative video about rice types.

Dubraj is one more variety of rice but haven't seen them in market from last 10 yrs.
Many of the varieties shown here are also not easily available in local market in Ahmedabad and available only at specific stores.
Krsna kumod is from Khambat region in Gujarat.

Yes, when I started research for this video, I found myself helpless and really felt that, we know very little about the rice we eat... Though I found it very difficult to collect info of rice types shown here... Though it is very less information at the end. Yes, you are right, some tyoes of rice are found at some locations only... Polished rice is not at all good for anyone, where as unpolished local varieties are best. Like in Gujarat krushnkamod , Jirasar are best.
