Nah, it's the best daw. I've tried most of them. I reckon it depends what you're trying to do, but if you enjoy modularity, then it doesn't get any more modular than bitwig.
This is a prime example of why i strongly dislike this current Upgrade (v5). "Random Melody"... To "Modular" Fans, "Random Melody" or "Random Rhythm" seems to be incredibly desireable. But i would never in my life use anything remotely resembling this "music creation". I for my part was SO close buying Bitwig, choosing it over Ableton, because it has Session and Arrangement double-view. But with the lack of improvements in the pianoroll, midi editing, Automation!!!, and audio-editing, (also still no audio-overdub!) i m now waiting for the next version of Bitwig. I fully understand that modular stuff is wanted by many - and i wish you nice fun with it. But please Bitwig, invest some development in the basics of your awesome DAW, it will be a much bigger leap than this modular upgrade...
I really get what you’re saying, but there are so many daws that focus on more traditional workflows. Why should Bitwig also have to focus on that instead of what makes it unique? All of your suggestions would be appreciated for sure, but under constrained developer time I’d personally prefer software to become more unique.
@@schubertludwig i get the idea of constrained dev. Time. It s a great pity, that this is a factor. As a company i would create a patreon hub for people who want to support the DAW in a deeper sense, so that some feature requests can be coded by additional helper-devs.... To me, Bitwig is VERY close to being an incredibly powerful allround daw. They deserve to have a Broader success as a company, and the users deserve fine tuned tools for better workflows.
You know, I've never felt constrained by Bitwig. I evaluated (bought) both Bitwig and Live four years ago, and even though I felt the pull of the developer/producer community around Live, I chose Bitwig. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing, but I get things done and so appreciate what Bitwig has. They were the first to support the Apple M1. Etc. I don't feel constrained by piano-roll limitations; maybe I just don't know what I don't know....
@@briancase6180 haha it s always nice to not know what could be missed. My first DAW was Cubase, that influenced me a lot. Although ofc, i dont expect Bitwig to become like Cubase, just get some basic additions.

Damn this is a really good ad for bitwig
Ok thats it i think im moving to bitwig
Omg this is exactly what i needed ,thank you!
Lol nice!! I didn't think to use the step and sample and hold modulaters instead of the randomize. This makes it easier, thank you.
Thanks man!!! This is awesome. At the moment i use ACDGEN for cresting Basslines. But this super useful☔️🔝
Which preset on Phase-4 did you use for this? Sounds Great!
Dang my brain did not understand this lol
Why can't we modulate directly from Steps? Why is Sample&Hold needed in this case?
Damn so many modulations
Beautiful! When we get the GUI designer, this can be a "plugin." ☺️
There already is a GUI designer. It's called "Remote Control Page Editor" 😂
Would be absolutely shocked if we got a M4L like UI designer in Bitwig.
This would be so cool, but id probably spend more time making GUIs than music so maybe it’s for the best.
Love it
sweetness!
How would you lock the notes it generates on a scale?
Add a scale quant after

Very cool but would still much prefer a sequencer device designed from the ground up to emulate classic sequencers. Quick, easy, fun.
A sequenced does seem like glaring omission. But I guess there's just so many other ways to get there. I use a keystep
😮 WHAAT??!!!
hum.
jc that looks like a nightmare to produce with
