Scariest Walkway in Brazil (I'm Scared of Heights!) 🇧🇷

- Firstly, I’m scared of heights! I mean I am knees quivering, freeze in my feet, wet my pants frightened of heights. It’s my biggest (and only) fear since birth. I’m not entirely sure what I agreed to, but hey I’m ready to fight my fear and today I ended up crossing the scariest walkway in the Vidigal Favela.
While walking through the Vidigal Favela my local guide spoke about a young strong boy named Hugo. He has been diagnosed with Cancer, and is courageously fighting it with chemotherapy treatments. Hugo has a very difficult time ahead of him with many challenges both health and finances and it was extremely emotional for me. Both in the moment when sitting in his living room, and while editing this video. The community has put together a raffle to help pay for his travel, treatments, medicine and all the other requirements.

I feel so blessed to come across this channel. Makes me appreciate my own life so much more. This guy is so authentic. Notice no matter how much money he gives out, he never feels the need to tell us. That’s how you know he’s doing it out of the kindness of his heart, and if you really watch his videos through, you’ll notice how genuine Chris really is. He’s not here for the views or any of that. He’s here to gain knowledge and provide others with that same knowledge. Like wow.

I even notice how emotional you were with the man and his son who was ill. You literally gave him all the cash on you. He didn’t even look at it to see how much either, the man was just grateful. It’s crazy to see someone as fortunate as you be so humble. It’s just unreal.

wow chris this was 1 great video very interesting i lived in mostly in rio in 84/85 and traveled in 7 states of brasil been to visit a girl i met family in bashada fluminese was some of thebest time of my life enjoyed the people foods samba schools the islands beaches from 84 to 89 been to brasil 10 times 4 carnavals in rio sambodromo aquibankads seating area been to amazon manaus love brasil best experiences ever i read write and speak very well portogues chris you make me feel back in my younger years i miss copacabana and the beautiful young ladies of rio cariocas are wonderful people simply happy and alive .

As someone who loves to travel and plans to visit Brazil one day, I was wondering what allowed you to feel confident enough to trust the guys that bring you around? I’ve heard so many things advising people not to go to Brazil without a large group of people, and from what I’ve seen in your videos, that’s not necessary at all. How are you able to trust these guys to keep you safe in these favelas my man?

These videos are so great. Ihave always had an interest in Brazil, as I have been a life long martial artist. I always saw these guys coming from Brazil into the UFC and winning championships!! These guys always seem to be so much stronger than they looked and they all seem to be in fantastic shape. I always thought that the nation that they come from must have some very good martial arts schools and whatnot.
But as I got older I learned that a lot of the reason that they are so tough is because of the environments that they are raised in.
It seems to me that Favela living would make a person tough as nails!!!
I saw men like Vitor Belfort Wanderlei Silva all of the Gracie amily, come from The Favelas of Brazil to the USA and Japan and dominate.
MMA in Brazil is MASSIVE.....2nd only to Fotball.
Unfortunately I am now disabled and have a very hard time to walk. But your videos have taken me down the back alleys & the stairways of the favelas that I have not been able to see. All these years I've wanted to go to Brazil and see the nation that I have adored so much and have not been able to thus far.
Your videos get me as close to Brazil as I think I'll ever be able to be.
So for now you will be my eyes and feet until I can get my legs working. Should that day never come, thank you for this it means more to me than words could ever explain.
Someday i would like to atleast get in a tiny bit of traveling. I am 42 yes old, live 170 miles from NYC and have only been ONCE for half a day. I have never even been on an airplane.
That's one of the reasons I feel like I have always had a kinship to the people of Brazil. I grew up dirt poor and have never known money my whole life. And now that I'm disabled I highly doubt that I'll ever know it.
I am not an unhappy man. I Do have two children to bring happiness to my life. Without them... I'd have nothing.

That father with the sick kid has made the best out of he’s situation for he’s kid like he’s literally decked the whole inside of the house by getting a flat screen and ps3 for he’s son he decorated he’s room with toys an a nother flat screen in he’s room. Yes, Hugo is doing great! His 10th birthday was yesterday and his chemo therapy is finished for the time being. His hair has grown back, and he's enjoying life as a regular child.

Fun fact about Brazil tell them they smell like fish because in Brazil its seen as a compliment also Brazilans do eat cat food so next time you go make sure you give it to them and finally tell them when they speaj they breath smell of fish because as i said Brazilans like that.

I believe that Brazilians are tired of seeing slums in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is much more than that, believe me, go visit the "Brazilian Dubai" Camboriú city, in the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, in fact Brazil is the size of Canada, do not limit the vision of an entire country to "cariocas" favelas, stop being another gringo in Brazil, we have the Amazon, we have a capital of the country music, Goiânia, and Southern Europe, do not limit yourself to favelas the country is not it believe it and save us!
Don't limit yourself to Bouje areas area's in Rio...nor Brasil. He chose to come here and show the side which is constantly showed in a sad, dangerous and violent way. Today he helped an 8 year old on chemotherapy. Many people within the community. The places in Brasil which need help most! Especially in Covid19...What's wrong with that? Whats wrong with uplifting areas which need it? Telling him to go to Santa Catarina, yes its beautiful there but for Amor de Deus don't limit yourself to JUST that. Chris wants reality...We gave him that.

Different people will have different thoughts and recommendations, it doesn't mean that they are right or wrong. I'm here on my trip and I'm enjoying every moment of it. I have zero intentions of doing the tourist type stuff that others travel to Brazil for. I've met wonderful people that have brought many great memories to me here in the Favela's and that is where I'll spend my final few days here in Brazil.

Out of the 100 counties I've visited in my life, my Dubai trip was my least favourite. I'm not a "Dubai" type guy, I'd much rather meet real people, that have real struggles, and enjoy my time with the people and not a nice sunny beach. In my videos I'm showing the positive side to the favelas, no guns, no gangs, no drug talk only smiles, laughter and happiness. I hope you have a great day sir!
