When my son was about three, I showed him this movie and he liked this song. When he got older and enlisted in the Army and was deployed to Afghanistan, I used to stand outside with my dog at night before we would go to bed and look at the moon and sing this song to him. So glad he made it back in one piece, because sadly, a lot of his buddies didn't. One of the most beautiful songs ever made.

I can't listen to this song without getting tears in my eyes. When I was a teenager, I gave up my first botn son for adoption. It was a closed adoption and I longed to be able to see his face, know his personality and interests. This song gave me hope that one day we would be reunited. A month before my son turned 19 years old, he contacted me. I could not have been happier! We were so much alike! We remained in contact and saw each other a few times a year. Five years after we reunited, I got married for the first time. I danced first with my husband, then with my Dad. I then danced with my son to this song. I couldn't believe we were reunited, that he was at my wedding and that we were sharing this special moment. I have to say, there was not a dry eye at my reception after this song and dance.
Unfortunately, my son and I are no longer in contact. Every time I hear this song, I think of him. I remember the many years of longing to know him, the answered prayer in our reunion, and the hope that we will, at some point be together again.

My precious and beloved daughter and I were separated when she was four years old. She was raised miles away from me. The pain on my side from that loss was unspeakable, including the pain from what my daughter was experiencing from the separation. Over thirty years passed, with so much history in between. Do you know which vaccine brand is given over there, is it Pfizer or Moderna? Or perhaps a different brand?
@@Tam0de We're using different ones depending on the individual. I've had the Pfizer as I have a weakened immune system. The Oxford university vaccine will be good for poorer countries as it's cheap to produce and easy to store. Scientists here are working on making it more effective as it's not quite as good as Pfizer or Moderns.

@peterlittle123 aww thank you for saying that that was really sweet of you to say you're absolutely right I'm heartbroken I haven't found that someone yet that has completely accepted me for me okay I got involved with a man for 15 years he accepted me for 7 years he accepted me and supposedly he loved me we were 2 lovers entwined everything was great until we got married then everything changed honestly I don't know how that happens😟 I loved him with all my heart and my soul and put him on a pedestal but that wasn't good enough for him and I think that was my problem because once I brought him up he would try and bring me down then try to change and chip away everything about me that he supposedly loved from the beginning and then I almost lost myself and I didn't know how to react to that and I started having health problems getting sick because of the gaslighting the lies the manipulation I was tired of being sick and tired of him vampiring off of my energy especially my good energy he couldn't even be happy when I was happy I couldn't be my Carefree self that I once was so I left because I was becoming somebody I didn't want to become thank God he didn't chip everything away from who I am God bless you thank you for your kind words Peter 😊

I am listening to this song for the first time, and I am absolutely stunned by the beautiful music and the beautiful singers. This is so beautiful.
Just the way Ronstadt envelopes her singing partner, James Ingram, is wonderful. Thought this was a bit too sentimental when it was a huge hit back in the 80s but now it sounds lovely.
+zane blast I was not even born in the 80's but I agree. Ingram is a natural in the song. However, I prefer him when he sang Our Time Has Come in Cats Don't Dance. I don't remember the female singer who sang with him.

Another video reminded me of "An American Tale" tonight; and here I am down a rabbit hole listening to the songs of it's soundtrack. Great memories of a better time in our world where as a child everything was so magical.

I am a Korean. I heard this song in Japanese version for the first time. The melody sounded very sweet and soothing. I knew the original version was an American song but I didn't know who its originator was and what the English title with kyrics was called. After all, I got to know Some out there was sung originally by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram. Beautiful song!
