Tony wasn’t a villain, it was all just what lead to stuff and it wasn’t anyone’s fault, based on what happened before everything and Carla’s starting life and the fact that she was the one who fell for Liam and acted on it and then how there was how Carla’s mum was in poverty and possibly how her life was built up on a lie. Richard Hillman wasn’t a villain either, he was a nice man but it was stupid how he couldn’t have any children and it wasn’t fair on him. Squelan was the villain.
@@Sam_Bruntin my opinion Tony wasn’t what you call a villian because in the end he felt genuine remorse for what he did especially when he unexpectedly fell in love with the wife of the husband he ordered to be killed, I think in the end the writers changed the course of Tony’s character, like the guilt made him ending up confessing, where as Jimmi who actually committed the crime was roaming free
Tony is evil, Maria is right to be angry for good reason, he murdered Liam Connor and he thinks he is going to get away with it, not a chance. He should be put in jail and spend the rest of his day's there. He is a baddie.

Carla thinks Tony is innocent at this point though. I can't blame her for believing and standing by her husband and to be fair Maria did come across as deranged and its only been 2 months since Liam's death. Most people believed Maria had gone mad with grief and at this point there was no evidence against Tony. Later on yes Tony attempted to kill Roy but he didn't go through with it and handed himself in instead. That being said Tony was an idiot to blab to Roy about killing Liam just because he thinks he's dying - I think around about February/March Tony confessed to Carla and showed guilt and remorse but the way I see it at the time of his heart attack, he knows he's sorry and God knows he's sorry and he thinks he's dying so there is no need to say it out loud - it's his own fault Roy found out the truth.

Maria really had a love hate relationship with Tony, because in the same year she ended up slowly falling in love with him, what a tragic love story.
