    Hi from Australia.
    I'm preparing my trip for January with my 15 year old son and this video is very helpful.
    Due to time limitations, we probably won't be able to do the O circuit. However, I know from Refugio Grey we can walk north for 2 hours and pass two bridges. Will I be able to see from the second bridge something close that what you show in minute 13:41? Do you remember is the view in 13:41 is located before the first bridge (walking from El Paso to Grey Campsite) - which for me would be the third bridge (walking from Grey to El Paso)?
    Thanks in advance. Loved the video.

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! The viewpoint at 13:41 is just before El Paso Ranger station (when walking from Grey to El Paso) so it would be after the 3rd bridge. But along that whole section there are very nice viewpoints of the glacier that show similar views! Hope that helps!

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joshuastoian6804 if you want to do the O trek, the campsites book very quickly so make sure you secure those. Other than that, my best advice is to travel light and try to make the most of your adventure. Do as much as you possibly can! You won’t regret trying something but will usually regret not doing a fun activity!

    What hostel did you stay at in Puerto Natales? How did you get from airport to hostel? Thanks for the video and commentary!

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I stayed at Hostel Last Hope in Puerto Natales. At the airport there was a booth for a small shuttle bus which dropped a bunch of people off at their hostels. There were also a lot of taxis there. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

  • @evresort

    They still make you get the mobility pass to get into restaurants and hotels etc? Do businesses check for this? Thx

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did require a mobility pass to get into the country. They were very strict on checking it upon entry and exit of the country. I am not sure if the regulations still apply, the chilean government website would be the best resource for you!

    Hey what shuttle service did you use to get to the park from PNT airport?

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I took Bus Sur from Puerto Natales town to the park, I didn't leave directly from the airport.

    This is amazing! Gorgeous views and I really like your vibe. I am planning on going on a solo trip to Patagonia later this year but haven't really done any hiking before. I am gathering information online. Is there any recommendation or suggestion you would make to someone who has little experience with outdoor activities?

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Definitely just get outside and start with walking or hiking wherever you can. If you have a bit of base fitness there are plenty of hikes that are suitable for beginners!

    Can one rent a car and travel to the park from the airport and also explore the park in a car?

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! I believe you can rent a car from Punta Arenas airport and drive to torres del paine. But, the best views in the park are by foot!

    How’s trail marking? Is it easy to get lost or relatively easy to follow?

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is very easy and clear to follow. The park sees a lot of visitors each year so the path is well worn

    Love the video!!!
    I'm going to Patagonia in 2 months and am trying to plan my budget. how much were the campsites each night? and can you just show up or is a reservation required?

    • @joshcaldwell6946
      @joshcaldwell6946  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Campsites are strictly regulated by the park rangers, you have to show that you have reservations for every campsite along the trail before they let you in the park. If you have your own tent campsites are pretty reasonable (10-30 USD depending on the company)
