  • Not an easy video to make, but a necessary conversation that everyone needs to have at some point in their life.

    great video! great words! cars and racing helped me a lot during depression and panic attacks I used to suffer, and of course the lots of friends I made in the way!

      For sure man! If I could have been racing in my worst times I would have, unfortunately the darkest times I had I was still in college trying to finish out. The support of my racing buddies and cars in general definitely got me back in the right direction. I found my passion for sure! Thanks for the words Gaston!

      Thank you! I haven't made a video like this in a while, but it's good therapy to get it out.

    Great Video and definitely a much needed topic that people tend to avoid.

      Thank you Patrick! I fully agree, it's a rough subject to cover for people. I put videos out like this because I know at least one person out there could use this. I know I sure could have back in my 20s.

    Damn straight. The key to a healthy relationship - platonic and/or romantic - is open and honest communication. Good words man, couldn't agree more.

    • @DashnCars
      @DashnCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the key for sure, when Brooke and I started our relationship I made sure to tell her "I'm going to be open and honest, to a fault, but you deserve to know everything" We've both held to that over the years and we've been amazing since. A lot of guys are too proud or whatever to be competely honest and it ruins relationships.

    • @thesewistalexjackson
      @thesewistalexjackson 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly! Couldn't have said it better. My girlfriend and I said something similar at the beginning of our relationship and things are always talked out without devolving into fights and being angry at each other. Funny how that works!
      Side note I have no idea you proposed while we were all out at Brianne Corn Raceway! Congrats again!

    • @DashnCars
      @DashnCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the answer, if you respect your partner you can tell them anything.
      And yup! I talked to Brianne and made sure she was cool with it. She was super excited that I was going to propose at her place! I proposed to her right in front parking lot where we changed tires :D

    Thanks for being real. Depression is a real thing and there’s always things out that make us down, just remember tomorrow is another day. Keep your head up.

      100% That's another reason I wanted to put this video out there. Even though that "funk" lasted nearly a week, today was fantastic. I spent it running around with my finacee and watching Scarface. I try to keep it real with my subscribers no matter what, that's one way I want my channel to stand out from the rest.

    Hey buddy, I’m always here if you need to talk just like I know you’re always there to talk. It always helps to have a support group wether it’s someone close or someone far away. We may not see each other very often but you’re family.

      Thank you so much Bryan, thankfully the worst days are far behind me. I just felt like this was a topic that I needed to put out there in case someone needed help.
      It's along the lines of my One Word videos. But for real, thank you brother.

      Mental health is just as important if not more important than physical health. I lost an Uncle to suicide because he didn’t ask for help. He had severe depression that he hid very well. Sometimes it’s difficult to come back from the dark places we find ourselves in.

    • @DashnCars
      @DashnCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pennstateyaya absolutely man. That's what I want to convey. It's ok to talk about mental health. If you're sick to go to a doctor. If your brain is sick, you should still go see a doctor. I did a year ago and I've been thankful every day since.

      I'm a 19 year old guy straight out of high school and I struggled with clinical depression all through middle school and high school. After getting out of school and taking on a different lifestyle I've had a complete 180 in my life. I'm Happy for the first time in 7 years, and I honestly didn't think I'd ever feel this good again in my life. What I'm getting at is that I appreciate people that talk about mental health and take it seriously. Now its time for me to work on my severe social anxiety. I've been wanting to go to some of the rally cross events, but haven't really brought myself to actually do it yet. I would have gone to the one in greenbrier on the 8th, but I was out of town :L Hopefully I'll manage to get myself to the one in Clinton on October 6th

      @@Minerbot02 Thank you for sharing your story man! I spent my entire 20s basically in a severe depression. I talked about this on a video a few months back, but in 2015 I finally had enough. I decided then and there that I was making my year 27 the best year of my life.
      Since then I've lived for me and now for my family.
      Also please come to the October 6th rally! That just happens to be my birthday as well as rallycross! Come find me and you can ride along in the Fiesta for sure. I promise I'm the nicest person you'll meet, but truthfully the entire rally community is that way. That's one reason I dig it so much. Feel free to add me on Facebook if you need details or if you want to chat man!

    I have to disagree somewhat... these days folks are more disconnected than ever, publicly anyways. The internet and cell phones have crept into most peoples lives. When there was awkwardness in public before the technology boom people had to communicate and interact if you wanted contacts or service in your life. Was in a Starbucks in the city a while back and saw folks wheeling right up to the counter grabbing their drinks and walking off. No aknowledgement to anybody else in the entire place, think this type of non contact or personal interaction will not help us come closer together either.
    Hope that as we progress that everyone, on a personal level, has the opportunity to engage with people interested in engaging with them as well.
    Thanks Jon, great days to you and crew !

      I can see that for sure in larger areas. Thankfully I'm the south we're very personable with anyone and everyone. I try to keep that mentality as I travel and open up a conversation.
      I worked in a grocery store for the 5 years as a teenager, it really helped me be personable to anyone and everyone.
      When I speak of "our" generation I'm speaking mostly of late 80s early 90s adults now. We remember a time without cellphones and internet, so we still have communication skills! 😁 Thanks for the input Bubba! I'm always curious to know how others are viewing my generation.

    I personally, recently, read the book,
    Unfuck yourself by Gary John Bishop. Listened about 6 times now and just plays while I drive at work. It really helped me figure my shit out. My fiance and I stopped having falls. Work has been even more enjoyable. I recommend it to anybody who feels down in a rut. "I embrace the uncertainty, I expect nothing and I accept everything." -GJB
    now I tell myself that every day. I am wired to win. Our mind dictates or actions. You just need to learn how to rewire it.
    KITTY!
    SORRY K BYE

      DEVON!
      Oh hey.
      I need to check out that book, I've been listening to a ton of Gary Vee books for motivation. Crush it and Crushing It were excellent.
      My patience must match my ambition. If you want to earn 100 bucks, that doesn't require a lot of patience. If you're wanting to earn a million, be patient it's going to be a journey.
