New subscriber here! I have just started playing around and making coffee filter flowers. This has to be the best leaf tutorial on youtube, I have seen. Love how you are so thorough with explaining each step. They are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Hello Krista, Thank you for all your fantastic videos. You have been my main inspiration to starting paper flower making. I have now made a lot of coffee filter leaves all because of your videos. :) x
What kind of cake icing would you work on... Fondant, buttercream, or such? I have some suggestions as I am a cookie artist that specifically niches in edible painting ...
Hi I just came across your video the red rose what type of coffee filters do you use I noticed yours don’t have the ridges they love smooth they are beautiful flowers thank you so very much
They have the ridges :) Maybe the camera isn't picking that up, or possibly i had already cut them off 🤔 I would need to go back and look but i most often use cone-shaped filters (with ridges) in no.2/no.4 ...i also use basket filters sometimes.
Hi. I was just looking up where to buy these supplies from and I noticed the coffee filters have #2,#4,#6,#8 assuming that is the thickness. What would you recommend?
So the #s are actually about the size of the filter. I would pick something in the middle ground to give you the best all-encompassing use. If you go too small, its great for SOME flowers but not others. Greens... you could use any size as you can get SEVERAL little leafy pieces out of one filter. Hope this helps! No preference to brand ;)
I have a real stupid question. I have the other kind of coffee filters , a lot ,white and brown and no coffee maker. So I want to do something with them . Will those work ? Are they made the same paper ?
It's not a dumb question at all!!! The basket type of coffee filters are a bit thinner and more translucent. They will still work though!!! I would recommend making your colouring more saturated and/or using acrylic paints thinned down to make leaves with the basket filters though or they may be a little see through. Give it a try - you got this!!!
@@annlyon.2040 all different sizes. I cut them randomly each and every time. Roughly.... the length of a coffee filter when folded up and the average width is only about 1" to 1.5" wide
I have watched all the flower videos I could find and can not wait to try some. Did you ever do a video on your hydrangea flower?

working on a hydrangea tutorial
Wonderfull channel!!!!
Congratulations!!!!
💜
I'd love to adapt this for using on cakes. Wonder if corn syrup would work in place of the glue.

Hi,
How long will the leaves last? If the food colouring goes off, will that transfer to the leaves?
Thanks!
Hi Krista Great video ...how does the coloring hold up to light / fading
The glue in the colouring process helps but I would recommend spraying with a UV protection still, personally. 💜
@@craftedstudioco Thanks
Hello! Do you add color adhesive?
Do you mean the floral tape.. or do you mean the glue/binding agent itself?
I love your flowers I make coffee filter, paper, and nylon flowers. Do you have any videos or pointers on how to arrange them?
Aww you made my day, thank you!!! I don't have any arrangement vids , and admittedly its not my strong suit but will be learning ! 🥰
How long do you cut the wire?
Hi.

Or maybe I should ask if you have a specific brand of coffee filters.

How to add shine on it
Glue and water mix... or modge podge...or an artist finishing shine medium. 😘
