"No ice cubes in my Bourbon"! Better neat and possibly double: that's how The Lancasters like to drink it. The Lancasters are a project created by Davide Chiari with Stefano Vanoni and Federico Mariotto - on bass and drums respectively - whose debut dates back to November 2019, marked by their eponymous LP. The album was distributed in the United States and Europe by Fuzzy Cracklins Presents (Oakland, CA - cassette/digital/CD),
with several singles released subsequently under Rivertale Productions."Inspired by the sacred origins of hard rock and psychedelic music, by the purity and sonic freedom that shook England between 1969 and 1971, embracing its simplicity and the characteristic volumetric and obsessive impact," the Brescia-Mantua lineup in 2021 also incorporated Andrea Cotelli to reinforce the wall of guitars and vocals.
Their artistic influences range from Led Zeppelin to Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher to Orang Uthan, The Kinks to Terry Reid, and even Stooges and Black Sabbath: sacred monsters that The Lancasters evoke with devotion in atmospheres that are free from nostalgic or derivative excesses, amidst kaleidoscopic-psychedelic-desertic nuances driven by a punchy garage kick that propels them into the future, lively here and now.
This is demonstrated by their second album "Standard Family Size," released in 2023 by TRJ
Records in collaboration with Retrovox Records, also in a limited edition vinyl format: thirteen tracks as blunt as a punch in the face, produced and recorded in analog, true to their rugged style.
Riding the rock'n'roll wave with magnetic tapes, raw sounds, and fiery riffs, The Lancasters have already loaded another shot in the chamber: their third album titled "The Word of the Mistral" is expected to be released in 2024. Recorded at Retro Vox Studio in Parma,
it's poised to unleash its cosmic bursts during the long live summer, spanning festivals, clubs, concerts, and big gigs both in Italy and abroad. Prepare accordingly.
