    Thank you for taking the time to create and post this. I was debating on a set of lighter wheels for my '22 GSXR1000R but given the small weight savings and large expense, it's not worth it for me. So again, thank you so much!

      Hey Brad I definitely understand your stance which was mine at one point. That was until I rode a friends Zx10r with Carbon fiber wheels and it completely changed my mind. It sounds like a little bit of weight, but it feels very significant especially when going through turns. It is truly a night and day difference. Again I do get it though, almost 5k for some wheels is nuts lol, but 2600 for coremotos is a good bet. Be safe on those 2’s

    hopefully you have done this but on your final pic's of the bike you had left the lock nut on the left hand rear axle tensioner loose (about half way).

    I put a set of BST carbons on my ZX14 turbocharged,what a night and day difference. You're right the Dymag thicker lip makes big difference.

    Wow! You've stepped it up in the creativity department, great intro. As for the weight loss, it makes you realize how heavy the tires are. I wonder if the tire companies ever consider developing a lighter tire. Womble cracks me up every time at the end of your videos.

  • @Weeem
    @Weeem 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Iy doesn't seem like much of a change, but the current tyres are worn too.
    You could re-weigh the tyres after the tyres are dead to see how much rubber weight is lost over time. I recon 200g rear, 90g front :)

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes agreed... I now want to remove the old tyres from the stock wheels just to check!! Good to hear from you Weeem 😎

    3kg lost on wheel weight alone is pretty noticeable when riding fast (as the GSXR1000R should be!). Plus, these CA5s look stunning!

  • @darwinLee81283
    @darwinLee81283 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Anyway you can find a bottom fairing that will cover closer towards the rear wheel. I feel like most modern superbikes have that gap because of the larger factory exhaust. And when you replace with aftermarket the gap between the bottom fairing and rear wheel leaves a asthetically ugly gap where a race fairning wld be longer. Just a thought

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes know what you mean but gsxr doesn't have that because everything was in the cannon of an exhaust. R1 is a prime example of what you are taking about?

    Hi Chops I bet that feels different now much less un sprung weight, watching other peoples vids who have changed wheels say you have to adjust suspension settings to compensate for weight difference !! the bike looks mental and that colour scheme its makes me want to get one, I ride an old urban tiger Fireblade which I brought new in 95, she's been a good old girl though!! and the Bridgestones I swear by them as there's been a few times they have defied gravity & got me out of trouble! ATB Wayne.

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Wayne, yes agreed do love the S21 had a set on the GSXR before and find them an incredible tyre which wear very well too! 95 blade very nice!

  • @dejakes3122
    @dejakes3122 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very nice vid, quality of production goes up which each video. Are there ceramic bearings fitted on the Dymags ? Apperently (never tried them) these also make a difference in acceleration and handling. Also I've noticed you put on a 190/55 on the rear wheel, a 200/60 will change the bike's handling as well (thought Bridgestone sell these tires with these dimensions but unfortunatly only Pirelli does : Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 and expensive) , it takes some time to get used to but after that you get more confidence and stability when cornering (in my case anyway, not for everybody I guess...)

    Chain tension adjuster lock nut. Nice wheels. Looking forward to seeing what the difference is. Sometimes I dream about carbon fibre wheels on my mt10. Standard wheels are cast alloy so difference must be huge. Maybe one day I'll get drunk and buy them.

  • @tomtraynor5384
    @tomtraynor5384 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Almost seems to my memory that once installed on the Superduke, you commented it was less "stable"--or just compared to the Tuono? Which makes sense. But the way I ride my Superduke (or any bike) is not track day but cut and thrust, chuck it about on back roads--so is Carbon a problem or an answer?

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The super duke 1 was unstable feeling anyway so made it worse but did liven it up in all departments. Sportsbikes are harder to change direction on because of less leverage at the bars so makes more of a difference. But it's not just direction changes they help with acceleration, braking are also improved
