Try out the remedy mentioned in this video. You can use a sprayer for applying it. Make sure to do this until the mealy bugs are completely removed.

For indoors - Pothos varieties, snake plant varieties. As they are easy to care.
For outdoors - Many shade loving foliage plants are there like calatheas, aglaonema, ferns. Sun loving flowering plants like melestoma, adenium, bougainvillea, roses, hibiscus, etc.

Keep the soil moist consistently ,don't let it dry out. Ferns love moist soil.
