Believe it or not but a lot of the time it took until it was completed was waiting... Yeah... Because I didnt want to build in Dry or Hurrican Season. The first would wither all the plants and the second would blow hundreds of grass and twigs on the shore which would take days to collect. Also, I didnt need to collect a lot of grass turfs anymore because I had quite a few already collected from jumping worlds.
In SW, the only giant that comes after you is Sealnado which spawns in Hurrican Season. I avoid using the farm during this time anyway because Strong Winds appear there often which can harvest and blow serveral items from the plants on the shore. Those take a long time to collect, so I dont really go there during this season. One harvest last for quite a long time anyway.
Lureplants digest items in singleplayer as well. But only one item at a time and with such a big number of harvested stuff, you don't mind losing a few to save a huge amount of time. I don't really care about multiplayer and havn't played is for very long or know how the sate of it is today. Together became terrible once everything was just about skins. It's barely a survial game anymore.
I go through Grass and Rope especially like nobody's business. Trawling alone takes up chests of rope really fast. With such a big Lureplant farm I just have to look by every 50 to 100 days or so and save myself a lot of time.
Love your dedication with building all this! Must've taken years (in-game or real years) to build that.

What happens when a giant spawns?

This isn't really effective in Dont Starve Together anymore, is it? Because afaik Lureplants there digest items :/

Where do you use all of that
