Day 8 - Vietnam By Motorbike, Moc Chau to Ta Xue

Today's plan is to get up early and travel from Moc Chau to Ta Xue where I will spend 1 night and hope to see the famous Sea of Clouds. I have tried to see them before when I lived in Taiwan but I did not get much success so my expectations are fairly low.
We also have one ferry crossing to negotiate which according to google has some mixed reviews about scams and smaller boats.
The morning started off pretty cold and submerged in a low cloud which gave me the opportunity to use my very cheap North Face jacket that I bought in Tam Coc the day before along with some bush fix to attach a GoPro mount to my helmet… little did I know it would be the last time as the weather ended up so hot for the rest of the trip
For some reason I had got a bit concerned about the Ferry crossing on the way at Ben Pha Van Yen. Not because of the money but I just did not want to end up taking my heavy bike on some small death trap.. Lol
I was probably over cautious, so I stopped short of the terminal to see if I could see the boats crossing and where the biggest government one was. When I stopped it was on its way back to my side I headed down. Immediately when I pulled up a woman was pointed me over to a smaller boat but I politely shook my head. As the larger Ferry appeared I followed the other scooters and boarded. Was easy enough and got charged 10K VND once on board.
Once you disembark it was all up hill to Tak Xue and a really enjoyable ride however narrow in places near Ta Xue. The goal this evening was to visit the Sống Lưng Khủng Long - điểm Săn Mây (AKA as the Dinosaur Spine)
After a great ride up I was sitting having a coffee looking over the dinosaur Spine and I suddenly got urge to drive to the end as I has watched a few people do it. After taking off I took a sharp left and immediately met a locally coming back up. At this point it still seemed ok however I was starting to regret my decision. I got about half way and thought better of it and decided to turn round finding a better path. Probably not the best idea on a bigger bike, lesson learnt.
The only thing left for this great day was to head back to the Hotel, have a shower and try to find some dinner and watch the sunset with a few beers!
