Your starting army positioning is actually still perfect for the current version of the game but the actual fight is completely different. Finally beat the new version myself after countless tries, at the end of the day disease was the spell that carried the day, with plague to spend the rest of the mana. This starting position puts the enemies in the most favorable position to maximize ghost damage, which is the key in this fight, not the chimera who will be mostly taunted and auto attacking.
This battle plays nothing like this on the current patches. With some save-scumming you can still take the hill, but the enemy will ALWAYS Taunt when available now, and the cavalry will always take the brigands.
So, you had a solid start, but your end game was sloppy. You can abuse taunt a bit more if you wait with the taunted unite so it moves later in the turn. their taunt only ends once you defend the turn after. Because you get to taunt turn 1 before the hollow blades attack your other units can't be touched turn 1 and by waiting so the taunted death knight moves last in turn 2 you're basically protecting your other units for an extra turn. long story short, i copied your turn 1, stayed mostly similar to your fight for turns 2 - 4, then started doing my own thing. I actually got to a point where the hollow blades refused to move while i was sitting on top of the cliff, so i could pick em off easely. The opposing AI acts really strange some time. I finished the fight with my ghosts 3/5 alive, chimera alive and both death knights alive.
Your strategy does not work on PS4 : the Hollow Blade inflicts Taunt on my Chimera during the first round. And then i am skrewed as the Chimera, out of control, goes straight to the fight to be killed. I tried 10 times and it always happens like that. Maybe there is some luck in winning those trial but in this case, it is really bad design.

Contrary to your version, the spell Death Blade is not a scroll for me but an actual spell that i can launch several time (20 mana cost for 75 total spell points). So i guess that i have to play with that, as well as the "taunt" skills of the death knight. But as soon as my Chimera is taunted, it is alsmost finish :( There is a "dispel" spell but it does not seem to remove taunt...
@@mrfrenglitch2172 I changed a little you strategies and win in 6 min :) 3:22 I teleported ghosts instead of putting them on the defensive, and then used their scream. This game change to easy win :D
@@DerLarks yeah you can use one scream at the two horse mobs and then your second scream when Hollow blades show up. Teleport away after. This makes it so there is 1-2 less hollow blades later and have more ghosts alive. Giving you less to "kite" and you can just really go in for the kill. I dont think its a bad strat at all though. Take up position on cliff and then wait for ability to come off CD. So I dont think there is anything that needs to be "fixed"
This is a tight fight, if the ghosts don't 1 hit the giants at the start it's all over.

Enemies are a LOT better at Taunt in recent patches, too.
