Carefully sniffing through comments as I'm not done with the game, but dying to see what other people are saying. And yeah, holy shit. I legit teared up and giggled like a dumbass in pure awe of the enormous spectacle on display in this fight. The game could've ended right there and I'd had gotten my money's worth. The fight alone is almost worth the price tag. Such perfect balance of over-the-top mayhem and heartfelt story, integrated seamlessly into the gameplay. FUCKIN HELL
Absolutely this. Everything about it just oozes that classic Final Fantasy feel that the earlier games had, and the deeper into it I get and more I see of it the more I feel it and the more I love it.
Final fantasy isn’t about turn based combat. It’s about pushing boundaries, and complicated epics. And this is one of the best plots I have EVER seen in an FF game.
It actually is, there are other games with REALLY similar stuff and aren't final fantasy due to the gameplay that defined them. With that said the game is by no means bad, in fact I would even go as far to say that it's pretty good. They could have chosen different IP and still would be amazing but they choose to place it on an already successful IP for quick and certain 💵💶💰💸 which is disingenuous from the company. It's saving grace is the story and the graphics mostly PS. Before anyone starts b1t(hing and moaning for reading the truth and try to say that I'm not a fan so far I have all the titles (except 11 and 14 ).

i loved how the fight finishes with Clive turned back human and lands the finishing blow with his sword, showing that even though he is Ifrit he’s still Clive.
It shows that he's mastered being a Dominant. He's able to Prime and then revert. It's a great display of him embracing his truth AND showing his control!
He is not winning the battle against his Jungian Shadow, at first. He only turns the tide when he starts using the weapons and tools the Shadow is using. And he only wins when he realizes: he is not using the Shadow's weapons. _The Shadow is using _*_his._*
This battle is a masterclass on how do a boss battle. You have the emotional weight behind it, the epicness of the transformation, and the score. This one in particular gives me goosebumps.
This game has so many hard hitting psychological themes many people can relate to IRL lol... Overcoming yourself, coming face to face with the truth of your life, etc.
No matter how bitter the truth awaits me, I will press on. This part of the game he is literally accepting the truth and this is what I cried bout because no matter how much we go through in our lives or what we lost we have to accept it and move on forward with our lives. Admittedly I was warry of this game I bought the giant collectors edition for FF15 and was disappointed I even stopped playing 14. I was critical of the lack of party last year and still have gripes with the lack of customization like a mini gambit system for Torgal, but after seeing the demo I knew this was going to be a fine addition to the series. The story alone is worthy of recognition to which the game play matches its pacing if the story is going to be focused on a single character. They went the safe route but it was also the right route as this game NEEDED TO BE successful.
"You are not Ifrit. I am." That was such a badass line. BTW when are you gonna upload the Ifrit vs Typhon battle theme? That theme was amazing and completely threw me off since i was not expecting that kind of music to be in this game.
Notice how Ifrits imitation can’t damage Clive’s incarnation into Ifirt, even while clearly hitting him, all because he accepted the truth and thus it can’t hurt him since he already came to term with it.
This entire fight is a fucking masterpiece. The hypest and most badass thing I have ever seen in a while! I legit teared up with how good and epic the fight was PLUS THE GLORIOUS MUSIC! FF16 is sumn special man, I love this game so much.

Definitely my favorite. Clive facing his demons was an amazing part of the game. I love after the whole battle. "The hooded man isn't here. Let's go." It had this finality to it. Clive had actually grappled with what he had done, and conquered his demon. He was done with his search then and there.
This is the probably the only game aside from FFXIV that’s made me tear up multiple times from sheer beauty and design. So many great moments in this game
FF16 is hilarious. Ifrit got so tired of being a low tier summon, he made the entire game about breaking the brakes off every other summon - including himself - and stealing their drip.
My god man, just played this. And this nowhere near halfway into the game. I BEEN ASKING FOR A NEXT GEN pS5 experience and this fight is exactly what I needed. Was bopping my head to this and it was absolutely incredible. One of the best ways to show what accepting your truth and fighting your demons looks like for people. It’s never that simple.
And to think, he was composing all of this game's music while he was still in his hospital bed fighting cancer. The guy is already a legend, and every bit the worthy successor to Nobuo Uematsu. I'll admit that as Uematsu got older and prior to my becoming familiar with Soken's work, I began to worry that Final Fantasy would never find a successor who could truly live up to or even exceed his legacy....and I'm all to happy to admit how those worries were unfounded. As long as we have Soken, I have no such worries.

This boss is in a way, the first of the 3 major plot crescendo's in the the game, the second being the death of titan and the third being ultimas fight and the end of the game. And thd score really does do it justice, it is such an epic track.
This game has only bangers, like FF 14. This fight had me on the ropes, I was out of potions and had him on the last quarter. Then I unlocked Limit break.. and it was good
Honestly, making this a "traditional" Final Fantasy game likely would've been a disservice to the story. Being able to actively control Ifrit is one of the best gaming experiences in existence, and really could only be done well with modern gaming. *This* is what gaming is *supposed* to be! They go insanely hard on the boss fights i just started ff 16 a few days ago and i avoided it cuz the combat didnt do it for me but playing it yourself is another thing
The fact that this battle is won by defeating your demons and claiming your power over them. Only to use them to defeat the demons that oppose you outside your own mind makes this my workout music. I need a 10 hour version.
People who complain about this not being Final Fantasy need to get with the times. Not everyone still wants turn based combat. After playing over a dozen FF games I was over it and wanted something similar to what we got with 16. The game is beautiful and the series is definitely not dead. Multiple series that have a ton of success have changed their formula over the past decade and every time a new game comes out there's always a few who cry "dead series/game" yet a lot of them went on to become some of the greatest games in their respective series and even the highest selling games in their series. Final Fantasy has taken their leap of faith and like it or not the majority of people and critics like it so deal with it if you don't go play tactics or something and quit trying to piss in everyone else's cheerios

I've played every main line FF since I started with ff7. I kinda ignored ff16 for quite a while because it didn't particularily pique my interest. I bought it on a whim, am now about 10 hours into it and damn... its a great experience.
For those that say that it's not final fantasy, i can understand and agree BUT at least it had nice story and graphics AND it was finished game. So let's let it slide this once.

Final fantasy isn't about turn based combat, but it IS about party combat. Just look at FF7 rebirth combat, that IS party.
