Hi there!
I've been using this monitor for quite a while, primarily for university work. Overall, it's been a solid purchase. The screen size is perfect for my needs, and once in a while I use it to watch movies, where the resolution is okay. However, for me one downside is that the connected device like your laptop or iPad has to be on or charging for the monitor to work. I've experienced some weird issues with the monitor's speaker-when I use it, the video I'm watching fast-forwards, and I usually have to restart the device to fix it. Despite that, I think its an worthwhile monitor at its price. However, if you're not on a budget and require a monitor with high performance, you may want to explore other options.
