Him talking about Pokémon reminds me of the brainless people whining about bitcoin at $10, $100, $1000, $10,000 etc. "'It just can't" is all they said. Zero logic just pure emotion and foolishness based on nothing. This is why the few people that act on logic make money off emotional masses.
@silverwolf6866 Sure, bitcoin never went away. But you know how many people bought cycle tops and sold at a loss during each market peak? Super volatile markets are great for savvy market players but are not healthy for society in an overall sense.
@@King_of_Sofa That's my point too many people that act emotionally with zero logic. That's is why they sold at a loss. In the end they all made a mistake. I'm not saying Pokemon can't go down. ive been reading this comments since 2020 man, i was 20k in tcg value, now im at 154k, but please do not invest in it, more for us peoples were saying 151 is everywhere it wont go up, bought at 50$ now at 120 not even a year later, so you are crushing 120% gains in a year with your investments?
I assume because everyone knows it's going to be printed hard. With smaller sets it makes more sense to pre-order but with a set that's supposed to bring tonnes of new people in that will be legal for 5 years there is literally no pressure to pre-order.
Isnt it comforting that there are buyers? I notice people just keep loosely throwing around the term "investing". No. You are collecting. Rudy invests. Wallstreet invests. You invest in your 401k. Everyone else? Collecting. Like rats.

Pokémon is a vehicle for transfer of wealth from the naive to the cunning. Pokémon is the new crypto. Hyper pump then mega dump leaving suckers holding the bag is to be expected. Got to be early getting in and getting out.
or.. just keep accumulating and do not care about those cycles? just buy alot more when its down.. sell maybe a fewww iffffffffffff u need during bubbles.. but pokemon isnt going anywhere there is literally 0% chance that a ip have that kind of momentum to take pokemon's 1st place of al time befor the 50th anniv drops.
Its fine to purchase, even in a potential bubble moment, as long as people use their "spare" money that would otherwise be trown away at high end restaurent anyway. Nice content, happy to see more content each week.
I agree. And the best decision they ever did was to cut ties with the bros and the rudys and focus on their game and community and not the fomo to the moon crap.
Something I think is going to hurt stores with Foundations is the amount of time it's going to be in Standard. With it being in for five years means Hasbro will expect stores to carry it for that long.

thanks for giving updates on what is selling for you, its very interesting to hear what the market is like straight from a TCG store owner. yugioh is probably no longer a top 3 TCG imo
whatever you do DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY for advice the amount of time he contradicts himself is alarming there has to be another guy he's in business with cause if he was by himself he'd surely be bankrupt
A question in regards to Pokemon investors, how many people are actually investing and how many people are using it as justification to enjoy the hobby? I see a lot of people coming in who talk about grading, investing, whatever, but the vast majority of them just like collecting Pokemon and many times it's a way for a parent to feel less guilty about caving into their kids wanting some cards. The big thing to remember is we don't live in an efficient world, many times we trick ourselves with arguments to justify decisions, a big one being is that when I open a booster box of whatever, it's not for me, it's for singles for the store even if I never sell any of them.
As a small shop owner, seeing more people "investing" in Pokemon recently. Increase in wanna be pokeshops but I can confirm multiple regulars spend quite a bit every two weeks.
I literally think this happening because of that TCG card shop simulator game everyone is playing. And before you ask me if im serious, yes, people are stupid enough to play a simulator of owning a card store and then legitimately think they can do it IRL. Yes lots of those people exist.
It is interesting cause if GRG is wrong all these people clowning on him will make money and ride off into the sunset forgetting that he is making a lot more then the rest of them. If he is right then all the haters will turn around calling him a scammer or whatever because he is ‘part of the problem’ even though he was saying this was looking extremely shady. Love you GRG. Hope for only the best for you man.
The play is to have your skin in the game when the craziness happens, I love it because I have piles of good cards and sealed I got cheap, like you say, I will sell into this madness and make bank! All hail pokemon! And yes most of the stuff you have is garbage I wouldn’t touch, I buy boxes and cases of boxes and high end singles, nothing under $100 Also I never use the word investment for cardboard, speculation at best
Probably the vast majority of people will get frustrated holding product and when pokemon prices stop going up. Then they will gamble on the 1 or 2 chase cards and open there stuff.
I mean…. I don’t care if they go stagnant for years…. Things that are 5-8 years old are anywhere from like 500-3000 or more. Im good with 5-10x my money in 5-8 years. Y’all do you.
Investbros just comment on what they think will be in demand but they will never tell you that they bought 100 Umbreons vmax because they did not. They never also look at the depth of markets and how hard it is to sell certain cards. It is not because a booster box is $500 that you can sell 1000 of them but these clown never mention that.

Sell when your barber is giving you financial advice. Buy when it's quiet.
Honestly, if I would have followed this advice 10 years ago I'd be boned.
Based on that cut, the barber isn't even good at hair
It's kinda funny watching everyone and their Uber driver hoarding modern Pokemon believing it's going to be some rare commodity lol

How does it affect the LGS model if lots of private people start selling
