people dont understand, bf broke the deal, mario said 3 songs and they could leave, but bf ran on the second song, so they did kinda deserve it
While that's true, I think having someone play a 2+ hour mod just to die at the end (especially if you don't know the context) is very frustrating.
@SuperChaoticVods I personally feel that just because someone played a game for 2 or 3 hours, doesn't mean they should be granted a happy ending.
@SuperChaoticVods I don't love the ending. My main issue is that bf and gf are barely characters. I do not care about them, what their motivations are, so when they die I just can't care. They can be replaces by cardboard cutouts and the ending would still have the same impact on me personally. I think one way they couldve made the ending better is if they made bf and gf characters, like give them traits that can make me get attached to them or smth. But I think that's more of an issue of fnf. As the full game is just not out

Well, yeah. Because nobody wants them really. Imagine working so hard, beating so many challenges that lie before you. Upon beating the head honcho, he stabs you in the heart and erases all the work youve just done. It sucks, which is why I hate the ending personally. I still do love the mod though. Lets put it another way, imagine the hero who always stands up for what’s right, a guy who sticks his neck out for the innocent and would be the one to help an old lady cross the street and save a cat from a tree. Then he just perishes, leaving everyone to the mercy of the villains who enslave everything and makes the world a living hell, or more hell than it already is. That’s why people don’t like bad endings, because it leaves us empty and hollow
On god, i get tired of pieces of media always ending in a good way. I just want something different and more unique, and Mario's Madness does just that. And i fucking love it.
well not everyone loves bad endings, they make all the progress you made or the protagonist made useless, i think bittersweet endings are better
@mrcookie4308 I believe the superior ending that could be appreciated by all, is one who ends their life with a legacy, and becomes a noble sacrifice to change the world forever, for the better.
The modification here about the individual who is named "Super Horror Mario" captures a uniqueness, which is very sorrowful, and shows to be a disgrace to effort, but it nonetheless shows pure emotion, and quite a realistic ending

I think people feel that BF wins too much is because they group all of the thousands of mods about him together as if they're one continuity. You all seem to forget that for the mods where BF "always" wins, it's actually only happening for the first time in their respective stories. All these mods are basically reboots for the character. Where each one is a new story. But because we see them all, it FEELS like the same thing happens too much. But even then, BF dying being praised simply because "he wins too much" isn't a good enough reason for me personally.
That's like saying that Batman or Spider-Man should lose and die because they also "win too much."
Gonna be honest, I hated the emding the first time. I loathed it.
However, they stated before the first song that bf and gf are completely powerless. They were at M's will from the very beginning. In fact, BF knew this and ran away after the second song because he knew he couldn't stop him from killing GF and didn't want to leave without her. Thus, he took a gamble.
After you escaoe the overworld and encounter M again, he asks BF why he still persists. BF, throughtout 30+ songs encountered many different horrors and even had his personal self changed and watched GF taken and killed several times. (And somehow, GF came back alive).
Then, during all-stars M asked why he still fights and has a dead and strung up GF fight against BF.
It became clear to me that the goal wasn't simply to kill BF, that could've happened at any time. The goal was to break his will. However, even after loosing GF to the one he tried to keep her from, he continued to fight.
I put forward that M Failed to do this and was forced to kill BF after realizing he could't break him.
Does that make this a 'good' ending. No.
It doesn't make the ending meaningless or simply bad, I think.
BF did the only thing he could against the god known as Mario. Take away his satisfaction, which you can hear Mario singing about in the credits.
This is how I saw it and how I still managed to enjoy the mod and it's ending. It's bittersweet, but it works for me this way.
BF won, he just didn't survive.
I still think the ending is bad because it really made it seem like BF was building up to a win throughout the whole mod. Only to have all your effort completely Invalided at the end.

The concept of "we are killing bf in this mod" is petty as hell, but I like how they HANDLED how he died.
Mario acknowledged from the start how BF's survived several monsters before, some godlike like himself. So he traps them in a videogame he has full control over, to avoid GF saving the day like in Hypno. And I feel like he only realized DURING All Stars the same thing Shaggy and Matt do before and after Final Destination: The reason BF is so powerful isn't that he's incredibly skilled, but rather he simply has the power to turn back time whenever he loses a song. Therefore the way to beat him (after unknowingly letting him keep said power before trapping him) is simply the ol' "Win in gameplay lose in cutscene" trope.
Most horror games, especially EXE games, do not have happy endings, and I'm glad we got a depressing ending instead, BF gets off easy way too often in mods

For me myself, it’s not the water itself that’s scary, well actually ok so imagine your out in the center of the ocean, nothing but water around you, it’s not the water that’s scary it’s how vulnerable you are and how helpless you are, and the fear of what the hell could be down there in the huge abyss surrounding you. Also doesn’t help that humanity has not seen the entirety of the ocean so there could be just about anything you could imagine down in the depths

The thing with this ending for me is that it is...underwhelming.
Even if it's just a play according to the credits, the way BF died is far too sudden. It's building up to this epic climactic showdown, the stakes are high, and then out of nowhere *boom*, spike through the heart. Like what?
Even the mod where GF was transformed into a troll creature, and BF to a degree, made a better ending.
THIS!!!! I wasn't able to put into words why I dislike the ending, but you put it perfectly. Cause it's not like I'm against bad endings or endings where the main character dies, I loved the Doki Doki Takeover bad ending and hell even outside of FNF I loved the Alan Wake ending or FNaF Sister Location ending. I just hated how it was building to something so crazy and intense and then all of a sudden- *BOOM* too bad you get bad ending cause yes and it came out of nowhere.

Even if there may be no follow-up mod or update to this in the future, that would've been an excellent foreshadowing to it

It felt like something that should've been put in the middle of the mod as an obstacle for Monika to overcome and finally save her friends. Sister Location ended badly. But it LEAD into the good ending for Pizza Sim. Which people consider the best ending in the franchise. and that epic ending wouldn't have happened without Sister Location's ending, so does it truly make it a bad ending?
And I never played Alan wake, so I even know what happened there.

I believe the sorrowful ending of losing for the ending, is conclusively very unpredictable, and a creative change which I personally saw as a nice change of pace, and frankly, a more realistic outcome for such a predicament. You shouldn't be upset about the ending, as it is the ultimate ending of everything to exist. It was artistic and lovely, which captures the true pain that resides in loss. Please reconsider your statements and perhaps you could have a change of mind to appreciate the pure emotion that was put forth into the sincerely most significant modification application to ever grace this mediocre video entertainment activity.

I prefer maturely written bleak realism over emotional baby spoonfeeding and overcatering. This is an extremely well written ending honestly. Because "Your efforts meant nothing" is not a proper critique of the storytelling, it's just a plot point. There are no valid criticisms I have seej of the ending which actually talk about how the ending is written itself, not about how bad it feels to lose after all they've done. Those people really need to mature up a bit, and maybe read the actual lyrics to all-stars act 3 and the monologue coming before that song.

Hello My Friend! How have you been? I haven't commented for a long time, you and many other youtubers have indeed inspired me to make a FnF mod, well two FnF mods, The concept of one being a test but also a beginning of a story to the second being an uhm, "Indie Cross" like style, well, as I have said before I sadly, don't have much time to code(says the person who plays modded minecraft every day.) And I also don't know how to code, but what i do know is what the songs sound like and what the characters are and what the mechanics will be and what the story will be, Indeed, I might as well pitch it to you and you can tell me what you think. It's basically two nintendo games, however these two characters are both in smash(excluding the side characters) So the first mod is Friday Night Funkin the mysterious letter Pt.1(although the actual mod would be Friday Night Pikmin:Boyfriend and the mysterious letter... as you may notice the first mod is about a video game known as Pikmin, the story base for this little two part series is Boyfriend and Girlfriend are invited to a mysterious world that is the "land of Dreams" Which is the next part of the series, however as they don't really know what the "land of dreams" is, when the try to just teleport(as in GF just teleporting them), as they thought maybe somehow, they would just get there, they accidentally are teleported to a different world, where it is a post-apocalyptic earth(Being the world of Pikmin I could go into an in depth talk about Pikmin but the brief thing is that Pikmin are plant-like creatures that will follow anyone around) anyways they also notice that they have shrunk in size I dunno the canon height of Pikmin characters but I am aware of the characters as a sane r/Pikmin user who looks at the memes and uhm funny stuff. Anywho, trouble strikes as a Bulborb tries to eat them, until they are saved by a mysterious man, who seems to have these little Pikmin following him, later on he introduces himself as Olimar, a person who has come to this planet due to some debt that he has to pay specifically the whole story of Pikmin 2, anyways he also asks them why they are here, well, they tell him about the letter and he says he may know where the place is because he has traveled across space and passes by the "land of dreams" however he can't really trust them because he doesn't really know who they are. So I guess Bf asks to rap battle.
The songs for this mod are based on specific Pikmin songs here is the list:
Pikmin on march(A remix of the Awakening woods song combined with the other version being from another character named Louie who is a troublemaker in the series as in Pikmin)
The mysterious world(The remix of all four main themes from the main games but also kind of sounding like the remix from smash ultimate.)
Strike of the groovy long legs(Groovy long legs song honestly slap so a remix is definitely going to be cool)
The Mission ends(the final song is based on the mission mode theme remix from smash ultimate which along with megalovania is one of the best songs that I love other than Halland/Dalarna.
and those are the main songs,
the story ends with him telling them about a planet known as "Popstar" which he says one of the inhabitants that he knows may know about who sent the letter but also says this one inhabitant may be one of the toughest friends he knows since they had saved him and a ton of others from a "catastrophe"(so basically this is the beginning of world of light even though it isn't canon but still is a funny little reference.) and also to tell them this character's voice can cause physical damage to eardrums(if you don't get it search up "mic copy ability", although they accept this challenge and Bf says he can't wait to rap battle this "legendary Fighter"
so thats the first mod, there is also a lot of extra songs
Fiddle Me this(which is based on the insanity in r/Pikmin and a character in r/Pikmin named Fiddlebert who is a green Olimar.)
Steve the strong one(based on "Steve" the red Pikmin who is also a god in the r/Pikmin subreddit but the song may just be a reference to halland/dalarna which is a smash song for Minecraft Steve, however it is sung by the red Pikmin Steve I don't know what song I could do for this I will probably ask r/Pikmin for help.)
"Louie and the hound" A honest remix of the final boss song from Pikmin 4 where you have to Fight Louie who is riding on a giant dog)
"here comes the Wraith" A song based on one of the most terrifying Pikmin 2 bosses, the Water Wraith, which is a wet blob on a flinstones car. Who only appears in Submerged Castle a.cave that a lot of Pikmin fans get PTSD from, specifically this dude kills your Pikmin by crushing them.
Anywho here is some special stuff:
in some songs like The Mission ends will have Pikmin singing,
if you finish the mod and all the bonus songs(this may not be in the actual mod cause of how hard it would be) under options there will be a Piktionary which is a book that similar to the pikolopedia in the Pikmin Franchise will have entries on The characters on the mod, specifically BF and GF will have a special entry based on each of the captains(as in Olimar and Louie) Which like in the Pikolopedia of the franchise will be Olimar talks about scientific stuff and his children, and Louie will uhm, talk about how to cook them...(which is a Louie thing cause he does indeed in the pikolopedia talks about how to cook the enemies and treasures of the game and also some such as the water wraith are just "inedible tastes like chicken" which is an actual quote from the pikolopedia)
an finally mechanics:
The only mechanic for this game is the SM meter, which is basically the final smash meter from smash, the meter will slowly go up but will go faster if you miss a note, when full a "Special Move" will be used, it's not the final smash from the smash game but a reference to how you kill enemies in Pikmin in which you either punch them to death or throw Pikmin at them" specifically there will be red, blue, yellow, purple, and white, however depending on the difficulty of the game, there may be a light blue Pikmin known as the ice Pikmin that will freeze you, however only one will spawn each time the Special move is used and you can shake them off by using space, by the way the Pikmin will deal a ton of damage especially if it's on hard and a bunch of Purple ones will spawn, which will deal a pretty big amount of damage but not to the point of game over, but just a bunch of damage. The Pikmin deal a specific amount of damage based on their colors
Purples deal the most damage as in just like almost an eighth of health(or the meter on the bottom which I dunno what it's called, Reds deal almost as much as purples but only spawn in easy/normal difficulty, Blues will always be on easy difficulty as they do the least, yellows actually have a special attack being "shocking" since they are Electric-proof and also for some reason in smash deal electric damage and reds deal fire but the reds won't use fire on you. they deal a little bit of damage but not a lot but will still cause a decent amount and they are only on easy and normal mode.) White Pikmin are poisonous(you should not eat them or you die but thats not in this game) White Pikmin deal a small amount of damage similar to the blues, but like the yellows, will use a poison affect which after shaken off will still deal a little bit of damage, still not to kill you.(kind of like the poison effect in minecraft since you can't die to it.) Finally Ice Pikmin will attempt to freeze you, this is the one that can kill, a little circle will appear above you with a blue line slowly filling it up, if it is full then you freeze as you can't move, due to this, Pikmin will deal a ton of damage, if the circle breaks when you are frozen due to Pikmin basically just lie an enemy in Pikmin 4, you will break and it's game over.
there is also a FS meter for Louie's song too, except instead of Pikmin he uses the giant dog, in it's flying form or glow form exactly, which just like in the actual game will spit out a red fog called Gloom, this is very lethal, gloom in the franchise instantly kills you but it has been nerfed since it's strong in this mod, kind of like how the Ice Pikmin work, this will have a green circle which will make a green thing with red eyes when full which is a reference to the Smoky Progg which also uses gloom. This is only on hard difficulty due to it being overpowered, otherwise the meter will make the dog ram at you while being in electric form dealing like a ton of damage but not lethal damage like the yellow Pikmin in normal mode that is, in easy it's just in it's first phase and rams at you but does like a small amount of damage similar to blues.
also if you want to know, yes, the next mod will be way harder than this one, it still has the SM meter which does holy gosh like almost to the point your almost dead.

to break it down, basically the concept is BF gets a letter, they try to teleport to the place known as "the land of Dreams" but fail and get sent to PNF-404 or the Pikmin universe, almost gets killed by a bulborb gets saved, have a rap battle and gets information about the "land of dreams" mechanics is like the FS meter and based on colors of Pikmin and their abilities, special songs mostly based on memes from r/Pikmin and Louie the other character who is a little rascal... The concept is Every character that has been in smash(basically there is only two in this story) know each other because they were in the same game...
Race traitors is not a downgrade, Golden Land is. It was my favorite song in v1, and they decided to muffle GB's vocals for *some* reason. Also I hate how they swapped out his "casual laugh" pose to "stereotypical power stance" when he laughs. It's so unfitting for the character.
I mean I still feel it’s really good, I just wish it was longer tbh, it’s the only song that *feels* short sadly

@@Mushie_lol I mean, it's not bad. But I'm frustrated because it feels like really odd choices when the original version was better. Seriously, why muffle GB's vocals? It's more muffled than L is Real, and he's drowning. The track is banger though.

I hope you see this but MOST (not all...) Have said that the entire mod is a play or a movie as shown in the credits if you looked you'd see them working to make the play (or movie) then at the end you see bf and mario chillin in the credits still tho its all up to interpretation but for me theyre all good
