Pablo Garza is a massive featherweight, roughly 6 foot 1 inch tall, so his opponent was probably closer in size to the average 145er. Or like the commenter above me said, his opponent could have been a late notice replacement, coming up from bantamweight possibly.
Could make a good case Masvidal's knee on Askren is the most forceful strike in UFC history. It's shocking Ben didn't break anything or have any serious damage.
I honestly can never cheer for someone after giving their opponents multiple shots after knocking them out. I understand it's up to a referee to step in, or in the heat of the moment, trash talk or whatever but it makes me very uncomfortable , and I don’t want anyone hurt. Im not saying I wont cheer for them in other fights but these moments makes me not want to cheer for them even if I liked them and disliked the person they did it to. And Anderson Silva did it before a lot of people knew it was cool(even tho Pride had that already). All of those comps have him doing the incredible stuff before most fighters. GOAT stuff.
Man, those knees Franklin took from Silva were straight vicious. Annihilated his nose and body. He had a look of sheer terror on his face a few times while he was eating those. I’m still not sure why he did basically nothing to get outta that Muay Thai plum. That’s all he needed to do to escape and it’s not that hard to get out of, even w no Muay Thai training and just on plain instinct alone. But you know he was training some Muay Thai defense going up against Silva so idk why he was so helpless against that. Franklin was one of my favorite fighters back then but he was never really the same after their first fight and he was done after the second one. Silva basically kneed him right into retirement. Lol
