Yeah they are the best Depeche Mode rip-off band, that's where the 80's vibe is coming from.
The funniest thing about them is Steve at the end of "Tonight", where he calls for someone to please bring back his CD collection of Depeche Mode. So shameless, but it's all good, they carry forth admirably. The boys from Basildon have long since left it to others to push the sound.
