English in a Minute: Right on Cue

Welcome to English in a Minute! When making a movie, a cue can help actors know when to say their lines. So, what does it mean to be “right on cue?” 
AS: I am so tired. 
AM: Another bad night? 
AS: Yep! I was falling asleep, and then, right on cue, the guy upstairs turned up his music, and all I could hear was boom, boom, boom, for the next three hours! 
AM: Why didn’t you ask him to turn it down? 
AS: I was too tired to get out of bed! 
When something happens right on cue, it happens at exactly when we expect it to. Unfortunately for Andrew, the music got loud at exactly the wrong time. And that’s English in a Minute!
