    I took ballet lessons from Yania Wasilieva! Wish I had been folk dancing back then. He was associated with San Francisco State as I recall.

    It is indeed Slovak, from the Hron River upland region. However, the dance is choreographed (arranged) from steps learned by Anatol Joukowsky, a Polish character ballet choreographer, while he toured Slovakia during the 1930's. And, to correct the dancers who have made ALL the videos of this dance, there are NO STAMPS whatsoever, so I would not go by these videos for a true picture of this dance.

    Is Horehronsky a Slovakian Csárdás??
    From what I have read online, it doesn't seems Hungarian.
