I appreciate this review so much, it's the most common version of this truck that we'll be seeing out on the road (LT w/ 5.3). I was considering the 2.7l 4-cylinder but after watching this may need the 5.3. You got up to speed really nicely. Thanks for the great review!
@@Ballista762 right now the 5.3 is the slowest of the silverado/sierra engines. With 430lbs/ft tq the four cylinder is really impressive. But i think at 3.5k more the inline 6 diesel is the best option
I went from the 5.3 to the 4 cyl.. not by choice, but the leasing deals made me do it. The 4 is shockingly quick, much quicker acceleration that the 5.3. I'm enjoying it. Only downside is it sounds like a damn sewing machine, and not much better gas mileage.
I just got a RST with the spray on bed liner and the tailgate with the extra step. I put high clearance side steps and hard tonneau cover. 5.3 L V8. No chrome. 😍 360 camera too
This is crazy how much the price has went up. In April 2020 I got a 2020 RST trim with the 5.3L AND the Z71 package for $42,000. Nice truck but for $56,000 for the LT trim and no Z71 package? No thanks.
Very nice truck, love the new interior design and console shifter, the only thing I don't like is bowtie change, but all designs change every year, beautiful truck, you explained everything very well, thanks for sharing.
This is probably the best 1/2 truck on the market if paired with the 3.0L diesel engine. I hope they have improved the seats, otherwise it will be a big no for me.
@@rustbeltrobclassic2512 I have no idea about the seats and whether they are specifically designed for women (although I doubt that since about 83 - 85% of the truck buyers are men), but I have a feeling that only the higher end pickup trucks will come with the good seats, and the rest of the trims will come with terrible seats to remind owners that they have bought the cheaper truck.
ppl keep calling them paddle shifters. They are in that location but on the chevy trucks that's not how they work. That plus & minus tabs or paddles are there to limited the max gear the truck will be allowed to shift in. That's why the truck responded quicker to down shifting then when he hit the plus paddle. in others words hitting the plus paddle does not shift the truck into a higher gear unless it's ready to shift into the next gear. If u don't believe me, set the paddle shift to 3rd gear. start from a dead stop & and your truck will shift from first to second from second to third then stay in 3rd bc that's the highest gear that has been selected. And u can do that with gear 1-9 or if u have an 8 speed 1-7 TRY IT. Lol
Looks very nice and I definitely want one,but I know it’s still a GM with flimsy plastics, fake wood trims and delicate clips that start breaking or rattling within a couple of years. With the broken door handles as well. That’s the way my 2013 GMC Sierra is and my dad has always had mostly Chevy’s.
Funny the complaints are the plastics are too hard. From my experience the GM trucks made in General Motors de México Complejo Silao are of inferior quality. My current one made at the Fort Wayne plant does not have the annoying issues.
@@davidporter7051 @David Porter I worked at a chevy dealer for a couple of years around the time the 2014 Silverado redesign came out and the C7 Corvettes. I was a technician apprentice and I would regularly change door handles and replace cracked dashboards from full size trucks and suvs. They would crack from the corner around the passenger airbag, and some had a recalls for an oil dipstick, and plenty of them would burn a quart of oil between oil changes. Didn’t check if they were from México or not, but they use the same parts so I doubt it makes a difference. They’re still decent trucks, just not very high quality.
@@gilbertogutierrez1658 how the truck is assembled makes a world of difference, even with the material and parts. An experienced technician would know. There is nothing else needed to be stated.
I saw another video on the new gmc's, and the guy said he couldnt get 4 low without one of the packages for the suspension, but he couldnt get that package and the max towing package together. May be the same thing with this truck? Im not very smart when it comes to specs and stuff so if someone can explain it better please do!
@@devinmoore1352 that's true in Chevrolet trucks you must have the z71, LTZ or the High Country trim to have the 4 low. It's really strange in the 2022 models they must have change something this type 4 wheel drive has a single speed transfer. In 2020 I ordered a GMC Sierra SLT premium with 4 wheel drive and then I noticed there was no 4 low on it but there is a terrain mode which the Chevy engineers said it acts like 4 low. So i decided to buy the GMC Sierra Denali with 4 wheel drive instead.
This has got to be one without the chip...and honestly I think its wrong. I have the 5.3L and I have a programmer to run in 8 cylinder all the time so I dont have to deal with DFM. I get close to 18 mpg and that is about half city half highway. With DFM I can average 24/25.
these trucks are so ridiculously overpriced it isnt even funny. funnier is his attempt to sell it. I get all that technology and more for 27,000 dollars less in my suv
I just got a Lt and took it to the mountains yesterday it was awesome to drive! My family was very comfortable for a 4 hour drive!
The new front end is honestly growing on me the more I see it.
If They would only leave it alone, the Original was the Best one!
Same, I hated it at first but it’s slowly growing on me. I think the original still looks slightly better but that might change
Same. I thought it was fugly the first time I saw it. Not anymore.

Pick mine up in 24 hours. Been waiting awhile. This review helped me confirm my decision.
1 year ago today, I get a 22' Chevy Silverado.

I would consider either engine honestly. I want this one with the console. Don't want that jumpseat option.

Probably went up because of the electronic gear shifter.
Glacier Blue baby. That's my next color for sure.

I also like the new startup chime.
They finally made a bucket seat/center console option for the LT!
AGAIN!!!😡😡😡😡REALLY
Exactly what I want.
Cuz 2018 did
I Loved The LT But To Mention I Loved The 10 Speed With The 6.2 Which Is My Favorite Motor.
Just wish it didn't require premium gas.

I'm ready to buy one, but I don't want a crew cab. Double cabs are hard to find with a 5.3.
They’re especially hard to find in general now. 😩
Solid review!
This is what the Tahoe interior should have looked like🔥
NO!!😢😢
Sucks how they're starting to do away with the column shifter tho

Striking blue! Did this have 'DFM' 5.3L?
It’s hit or miss on them these days, but I believe so

Do you notice a slight whining sound when acceleration until you’re going about 30 mph? I hear it in mine

I thought they discontinued the 5.3 for the 2022 model year? Or did they stop sometime during production of the 22 model year?
No, 5.3 is still available I believe. Production, I have no clue on any of that.
I got same truck but 2.7 turbo. I got a heated steering wheel button but it doesn't work. Window sticker said need part?
Chip shortage. Your dealer will have to install it when it becomes available. Make sure to stay up to date on that

Short
Just have Them put the Bowtie Down where it Used to be, and, Walah, You'll have the Perfect Truck!!

does the 2.7 double cabs have the hidden hole in the back? I went to test drive a gmc double cab and i didnt notice it
😬😬😬 Idk what that is
What gas does it take
87 or higher I believe.

I don't care for my pickup too much try to add a dash cam and there's no place to put it on the fuse box they got the three prong fuses

Does this model come in 2.7L?
