The last time I crocheted anything was almost 40 years ago and I watched your videos and am hooked! I really enjoy your instructions, and your ability to explain what you are doing thoroughly. Thank you for the tips on what yarns to use.
Beautiful scarf and your tutorial is great to follow! I can’t wait to start making these for my Daughter and Nieces. I have a lot of the Facets yarn that I make the crocodile scale fingerless gloves with and you’re so right it’s very tough to frog so when I learn a new pattern with it I practice with a regular acrylic worsted weight scrap yarn to critique the stitches until I’m comfortable enough to hop over to the Facets, Unforgettable…
I just finished making this scarf. I used the color mountain range, in the landscapes yarn. It came out so beautiful. It is a gift for my niece , and now I want one for myself! Thank you Colleen, for a great tutorial and a great pattern. Liz B
I love this. I am so happy to find you again. I found you once a long time ago and then I lost your TH-cam. So happy to connect again! I like what you do and how you go about it all. Thank you!
Thank you! This is such a pretty pattern! Your instructions are clear, pleasant and very easy to follow along. I also appreciate you showing an example of this pattern with a different yarn. 🤗
I love this... You are one of the best instructors out there. Y pou are so easy to follow. You don’t go too fast..,or too slow....and...important to anyone with hearing loss...Your voice is low, even, and each word is clearly spoken. ...
Crocheting this pattern now, it's quite beautiful & ever so easy. No complicated moves or triple crochet etc ,just a repeat of two patterns. Watching Wimbledon easily while doing this. Thank you Madame, this is a cool pattern indeed. 😎
Thank you for this pattern. It helped that the 3 double stiches in one hole is the only stich I've known for 40 years, I call it the shell stitch. I did take my own notes as I can't remember what all the abrievations stand for. When I first learned to crochet I was taught to go under rather then over so I've been reteaching myself how to stich. (my sister taught herself how to stich by using a unfinished blanket she found alongside the road. I THINK she taught herself and then me with a blanket that was being done by someone left handed and we are both right handed.)
I came across your seamless join for granny squares when finishing up a granny afghan. I wasn't pleased with what I was finding until I saw your join method. The Afghan really went together beautifully, so much better than whip stitching or crochet the squares together. Going to try this scarf. Probably wider. Thanks
Beautiful stitch but the video moved so slow it was like wading thru quicksand. Thank you for supplying the link to the written pattern, that made it worth the time.
You are just an excellent teacher!!! Thank you!!! This was so much fun and so easy to learn!!! I hope you are still making videos because it is so nice to learn from someone who goes slow at first so I have a chance to catch on!!!❤❤❤❤
I love this pattern. I used s shiny hot pink acrylic yarn and it looks like rose petals. ❤ I’m going to do it again with the same yarn but a bright purple!
I made this scarf last year and came back this year looking to make another one. Oh my! I couldn’t find this video to save my life!!!! I finally found you and realized I’d forgotten to subscribe. Well, I am now and now I will always be able to find your amazing videos!!’
love the stormy waters , it would help to crochet with a white surface when crocheting with dark thread. i carry a white napkin for my lap when working on dark thread, and vice versa.. love your work
I might be 2 years late to this party buy wow, I love that I found this. I followed along and am about 5 inches now. It is beautiful. I couldn't find the same yarn you used but I did find and ordered the "Unforgettable". I can't wait to get it. Meanwhile I have a nice Berroco Ultra Alpaca that is 50% alpaca and 50 % Peruvian wool that is super soft actually, and it will be warm. I read some comments and know about the matching hat in your videos that I will definitely also make. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful skill. I've only started learning from videos for about a year now.
Oh yes!! I like this scarf. I enjoy doing textured crochet patterns - it's beautiful! Such beautiful yarn, gotta get some .... Tfs!! I'll be coming back to this video soon ....
I’ve been doing different swatches and I adore this pattern. I’m getting married next June in Winter (Australia) and I’m doing this pattern for my bridesmaids wraps 🥰
FYI If you go to the little thing that looks like a gear and click on it, (pass your mouse arrow over the bottom of the vid to see it) you can play this at slower speeds!! Very handy.. Love the scarf. I bought some yarn today and just happened to buy this very stuff in a nice green. Meant to be!! I am not excellent and these type of things but I know enough to get started and this vid is great.
I liked most of all the different yarns, especially the price s. I've been looking for a nice yarn to make a baby blanket. I decided on the yarn by baby. I will be buying for myself also. Thank you so much.
One of my first crochet projects during the pandemic in 2020, and it is still one of my fav pieces to wear in the winter ! It is still pretty in the “landscapes” yarn . I love the pretty texture that this pattern provides
I love this pattern, it does move fast. I am making scarfs for a rescue mission and wanted to try different patterns so they look different since I can only use black or gray colors. Thank you very much❣😁👍
Let me say again, that you are an excellent teacher,..and this is a lovely pattern. Please allow me to make one suggestion. I have Glaucoma, which has severely compromised my vision. That beautiful yarn was very hard for me to see... I had no problem at all with following the.hat video, because the yarn was...for the most part... lighter. Maybe next time you could use an easy to see yarn. I hated to even mention this...because the instructions were so good, and easy to understand, but I thought it was important. Thank you for another great tutorial.
Sandy, I couldn't agree with you more, and really wish I would have known how difficult it was goingto be to see before posting the video. I've tried to be more aware on the yarn colors for new videos. Thank you ❤
Love it! I’m doing another if your scarves... the garden infinity n it’s working out great n it’s my first time ever doing these stitches and making things. . I made another bag from another lady and a purse she has posted and than your scarf but my blanket which was not the best but my first ever and I’m happy I was able to do it not following any tutorials or pattern sheet but just what I remembered from being taught years before, anyways I’m having fun crocheting and I will continue to do so and do many of your tutorials. Thanks for all your great videos. 👌🏽😍😘🙂
Hello, Thank you so much for sharing this video. This was my first attempt at crocheting anything together with a stellar teacher, your clear explanations and great camera work I did it! That was a while back and now I am a full-fledged crochet addict. Thank you again for your generosity Colleen Kelle Standley Seattle
I love this pattern. It's a very simple 2 row repeat. I just completed one scarf using Carons Big Cakes. I will look for the landscapes yarn for future scarves. 😊
If you are still in search of land scapes order from Lion Brand directly. They have about 3 or 4 colors that are discounted because they will be discontinued the others will still be around for a while. I just stocked up on a box full.
Very pretty! The color in these yarns are so rich! I love Unforgettable too but you are right. It is so hard to frog. I'll have to give this yarn a try. Thanks for a lovely pattern and tutorial.
Thanks so much Thea ♥ It's my pleasure! I had fun designing this one, it has such a wonderful feel to it with the different stitches ♥ I think if I could afford to work with just the Landscapes or Unforgettable yarn, just because of the pretty colors and texture, I would! =D Have a wonderful day!
Lion brand.com has the Landscapes solid colors on sale for $3.50/skein right now. It’s a great deal at half price. I love this pattern and tried it out making a small keepsake blanket that our women’s ministry makes for newborns at our local hospital. It turned out absolutely lovely. I enjoy patterns with a variety of stitches and this pattern fit the bill and I had so much fun with it. I will be using it frequently. Thanks for the great tutorial!
I just had to say Thank You for this tutorial! I'm about halfway through my scarf already. I just absolutely love this stitch pattern!!! It is springy but holds it's shape so nicely.
Your yarn is such a beautiful color! And your stitching is perfect. I’m using a bulky yarn for this pattern, and hoping that it won’t be so stiff as it grows
I absolutely love the yarn used for this project!😍I am a beginner to crochet and bought the Lion Brand yarn in a beautiful Kelly Green and love it!It has great color and has a rich texture.
This is a beautiful scarf. I appreciate you writing the directions in the description. I put projects down and forget the direction -whic h problematic on youtube. Thank you for your time :)
Hello. I was browsing through TH-cam for crochet patterns and this video tutorial pop up at me and I immediately fell in love with the stitch pattern and I immediately got to work on my scarf. You’re awesome! 🥰 PS: I’m using Caron Cake yarn with a I hook. 👍
Thank you Colleen, I am going to find some Landscape and use that. I don't need the scarfs to be too hot as they are going to live in S. California. Thanks for your help. Lilly.
Hi Colleen, love this pattern. Easy to follow. Something a bit different. Happy New Year. I’m fairly new to crocheting. I love it. Have a good weekend.
What I would really be interested in seeing is how to make one of the shoulder wraps or short shawl-type things that you see in the series "Outlander". Those would look so good with an oversized wooden button or something. Would help if I knew what to call them so I could look it up!
Hi Colleen, Thanks for sharing a scarf to match the hat I made yesterday. I love this pattern. Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas & a very happy New year.
This is the first time that I watched one of your videos and have subscribed. Your instructions were clear but the dark yarn was hard to see. I love the pattern and appreciate the detailed information in your description box. Thanks for sharing and I hope to watch more of your videos.
Beautiful!!! Sooooo pretty!!!! Thank u so much for ur wonderful tutorial and written instructions!!!! Such a help to all us newbies!!!!! U r a wonderful 👩🏫 teacher!!!! Looking forward to more of your toots!!!!! 😘😘
Beautiful pattern, looks daunting, but actually really simple, once you get the hang of it. That said, this blue you used was quite Royal, but a bit dark to be able to follow the pattern, esp the middle single crochet bit.
I'm making this one for my sister-in-law and using simply soft paint spring brook made by carons. It is a variegated yarn and it works up to be really soft, thanks for the pattern
Oh I love to hear this! I'll have to try it with the Caron simply soft! I hadn't thought about that yarn but I'll bet it does turn out lovely! Thanks for the tip!
The last time I crocheted anything was almost 40 years ago and I watched your videos and am hooked! I really enjoy your instructions, and your ability to explain what you are doing thoroughly. Thank you for the tips on what yarns to use.

Very smart! I love it! Thanks for your comment, I hope you enjoy working it up! 💕
I'm going to do this next in white
I've done a white, a gray, a navy blue and a peach with this stitch all with fringes.
I just finished making this scarf. I used the color mountain range, in the landscapes yarn. It came out so beautiful. It is a gift for my niece , and now I want one for myself! Thank you Colleen, for a great tutorial and a great pattern. Liz B

I always find the first two rows are the hardest! The first row in the foundation chain takes me the loooongest😁
Me toooo Liz! Sigh.... ♥

Wow Kelle! Thank you so much for your sweet words ♥ It makes me so happy to know that my patterns are making others happy ♥
Ok I internally did stitch chain 2 on each turn... Worked out well. Do think if u chain 3 on both turns will give u a scallop look
I love this pattern. It's a very simple 2 row repeat. I just completed one scarf using Carons Big Cakes. I will look for the landscapes yarn for future scarves. 😊

Thanks so much for the tip Moza!
It is NOT being discontinued in the Northwest or it’s website. I have researched this and you can order from all the major sites except Michaels
Thank you for sharing this information with us .
Very pretty! The color in these yarns are so rich! I love Unforgettable too but you are right. It is so hard to frog. I'll have to give this yarn a try. Thanks for a lovely pattern and tutorial.

Not surprised...Grey is so rich ... Grey has become a big fav of mine.

So sweet of you ❤ Thank you Vandana! 😊
Beautiful pattern ji
I find that too many manufacturers don't do a good job of winding the skeins.
