Great channel, Want to know if you can assist be, what’s the colour of the wiring plugs for the cam sensor and the crank sensor ? I recently bought a 3.0 without a motor . Got a used one but all the sensor plugs are black
While repairing the jack points (which only can be used as such only once, it seems) I always weld-in a 30cm piece of 30x20x5mm square bar, behind, but onto the pinch weld, so damage like that and thus rust, is a thing of the past. ...at least there.
Neil with gloves without holes would be a first 😁 Nice job car looks great again and sounds wonderfull. Only the smoke with the start, is that normal? My 166 3.0 v6 never did that and did not use oil at all. Maybe about 1 ilter in 8 miles.
When I was into Alfas years ago , they always recommended Golden Lodge spark plugs, for fear of the plug end dropping off into the cylinder, not meeting temperature range and so on. They were proper race style plugs with 3 electrodes much like some Bosch plugs. On the old twin cam from the 1960s/70s/80s/ early 90s they said you would loose 5 bhp if other plugs are used,- a design compatibility thing I guess , they used to be much more expensive of course than conventional Champions and the like I presume they are still available from Alfa ?.. btw car looks great Ian liked this model over later designs
The 24valve had expensive long life NGK plugs as standard fitment, good for 70,000 miles. Doing the back three plugs is a pain so they often get ignored. I remember the 3 electrode Golden Lodge from my 164 Twin Spark. Personally I thought it was a bit of hype. Having worked briefly at a motorcycle workshop we always trusted NGK quality and so that's what I fitted to my 8 valve (old style) twin spark engines. I never had problems with either make if I'm honest.
That sound at the end is fantastic - great work!
This car looks and sounds stunning. Testament to a top class mechanic
Couldn't agree more!
Another Alfa is saving thanks to you, bravo from Makedonija 👍🇲🇰
Nice to see a decent mechanic for a change and working on a legend 💪👍
Gogrgeous car and great work, the customer is a lucky bugger!
That looks fantastic. The design seems to get more iconic with every passing year. Such, I guess, is the true perspective time affords...

Beautiful car and a job well done Neil. Nice to see a Barchetta in the background too.
Perfect timing to see this after my enquiry Neil! It looks fantastic, well done 👏

Wow - looks magnificent !!
Very nice car. Very nice color match!
That is one beautiful car now Neil, the only thing I'd do is have the seats retrimmed in black leather.
What a Beauty!
Nice work as ever 👍🙏😊
Looks and sounds fantastic 👌
Looks fantastic. Job well done 👍🏼
What a turnaround for this car 🥳 back on the road fighting fit for the next few years 👍
Great car as always mate.
Beautiful Job. I might be picking up a 2000 GTV busso machine soon. Looks in very good condition, but no doubt investment needed down the line 👍
Best of luck!
@Italia Autos you might end up seeing it lol
I live in Nottinghamshire and will need an Alfa specialist to look after it 👍
Nice.
fantastic work
Thanks
Not sure about the gold blacklines but that thing looks and sounds fab. Well done Neil.
Was the blue smoke out the back at the end when you revved it?
Nice job
Maybe as plugs where changed and oil leaked in to engine from spark plug holes
Great video. Sorry if I missed an earlier part but exhaust system is that.... wizard?
Cracking stuff

...at least there.
I was thinking about doing that one time
I think you meant to say that the new exhaust sounds “throaty” not “thirsty” ! 😊
Oh no thirsty. You can hear all that fuel being burnt

Got to get my value out of each pair. Recently done work on it so oil go into cylinders
Wizard exhaust by the sounds of it

@@timhancock6626 Yep NGK very reliable. I never found golden lodge as good in the boxer engine or the Nord engine. I agree it was all hype.
Shouldn't the v6 need a 10w60 in it, and not a 10w40?? This is what I knew...
Lovely resto
Your customer will be made up
🤩
Looks epic. The new Rosso paint looks fantastic. How much was the respray as I m planning to do my gta in the near future.
3k for the paint.
In your opinion Neil what is the best sounding exhaust system to purchase for a gtv v6 I just cannot decide 🤷♂️
There's best sounding or an exhaust you can live with
