Here after LP comeback
This proves that you can have all the talent in the world but just need that one opportunity to really make it big.
And boy did she deliver.
original video for this song has about 7 million views now, so one can't really say that they were an undeground band, they just new to most of the LP fans
That’s the thing, people really criticized her during LP’s first comeback performance. She was just nervous. And lots of people IMO were just mad cause the new vocalist is a girl. Then they did a 2nd live performance this time for the public and the fans loved it and ate it up. And saying oh she improved so much. Nah, she always had the talent and people don’t realize, she is a trained and experienced performer and has been touring for years. 3 albums, hundreds of concerts. She’s not just some random person they chose. She earned her spot. Mike made the right choice with her.

Personally just not a fan of her voice I mean it's OK very middle of the road.not understanding the hype here guess il have to hope she gets better with lp.cant do much about her awful personal issues though😢
She is so damn good. She can absolutely tear it up in the amplified version and bring it right down and be totally personal in this version.

I liked them before this, but after seeing this version I'm convinced that she's a fantastic musical talent, for exactly the reasons you said. Reminds me of Lzzy Hale: She'll rock your head clean off, then turn around and bring you to tears. These are the best kind of performers!

I can’t fathom the range Emily has. Absolutely stunning!
And that's exactly it. Chester was a 3 octaves singer. Which is an extremely rare. So is Emily!!! She may have just an octave or half octave higher range than chester, but she can still get pretty low for a woman, and again, this range is RARE.
She has one of the most dynamic voices in music today. A pure talent
and that paid off 11 years later lol 😆

Maybe it's just the acoustic setting, but Emily's voice sounds way...prettier here than it does on record. I don't mind the rough sound, but it's nice to know that it's a choice.

I feel like the only way to describe Emily's voice is "consistently wild" lol it's so wild and raw, but in a way that sounds controlled and planned. It's so crazy.

They did become huge. The thing they didn't do was sell out. They created their own labels, funded their own tours, and succeeded. Emily took from Foo Fighters, and they leased their music. She and her band own 100% of their music. They chose when and how they play. Not required to play.
Sometimes bands randomly pop off and become mainstream due to a single song. For example I Prevail became big because of their Taylor Swift remake, Glass animals because of Heatwaves, etc. Weatherman is up there but it didn’t quiet break through to a mainstream hit, but the band is still doing really well overall (they opened for Muse for example)
Just when you think rock is a dying art form, Dead Sara's all like LEEEEEROOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY JEEEEENNNNKKKKIIIINNNNSSSS!!!

Just realized that she has a versatile voice - she sounds different here than how she sounds like when with LP but both rocks! Emily is 🔥
The way she sings and her voicing had a bit resemblance with the Blind Melon songs entitled No Rain that corresponds to the acoustic sounds of this set. at least for me the way I hear it the way she perform here. Nice to know this group beacuse of LP comeback. rock on and keep it rollin.
