    Instead of giving kids laptops for remote schooling due to covid, give them all Oculus Quest 2 for a Virtual learning environment. One step closer to Ready Player One. Cut student loan debt, go VR!

    Consider it done.

    This thing at $299 makes the $599 HP Reverb look a little silly.. After all, they are both similar 4K ish resolution, Reverb a bit higher, but the Quest 2 has better controllers, and can be used tethered or totally cordless...

    Nice vid, as usual. Thanks mate. I will add 2x imho things though.
    First is, that while the Q2 is a great headset, if you are an OLED-lover and want better IPD adjustment then the Q1 is still very good and Oculus seems to support and continues to improve it (v23). I actually pre-ordered a Q2 (with Elite strap) and returned it a few weeks later to go back to my Q1.
    Secondly, if you do want to play flight/racing sims you are still best to stick with dedicated PCVR headsets with hdmi or DP in order to get the best results. For me, it's hard to beat my Vive Pro with Etsy Gear VR lens mod for all my flight/racing sims.
    Quest Link and VD wireless is improving all the time so maybe one day this will not matter. Thanks again for your great YT vids mate!

    After I bought Valve Index I decided to buy Oculus Quest 2 as well. And I am happy wiith it. And thank you steam that you allow to play in Steam VR with Oculus headset. Nice stuff. Good for takeaway.

    I bought both Elite strap and halo strap coz many youtube videos said the stock one is crap, however, if you use lens adapter, the stock one is much better than any other two straps in terms of clarity coz its elasticity. Plus, i didn't see any improvement for comfort with the Elite strap with power bank as a counterweight on, probably my face shape is different. The halo one does remove pressure from ur face but it'll put all that pressure to ur forehead, which is not very comfortable as well. Before you watch too much youtube, check ur face shape

      Felt like a up sale to the Elite strap.. I thought it was way less comfortable than the stock one. I returned everything at the end of it tho.. No thx Facebook!

      @@Killswitch1411 I couldn't use the standard strap for more than 45 minutes without it hurting. I can use the headset with the elite strap for 4-5 hours no problem.

      @@matthewlake182 I was opposite, elite strap was pushing all my pressure points. For me it was one of the least comfortable hmds I've used.

      @@Killswitch1411 Hmm I see. It wasn't too tight was it? It's important to get the top strap set properly so it kinda rests on your head. I barely even tighten it either.. it never even causes red marks for me even though I use it for hours at a time. Ofc, still not as comfortable as the original Rift, but fine for me anyway.

    I don't mind that there are not too many games only for the Quest 2. It's only about twice as powerful as the old Quest. It's not really enough power once you take into account the higher resolution and higher refresh rate the new processor is pushing.

  • @JOXperience
    @JOXperience 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Coming from the Quest 1 I got a bit disappointed with the quest 2. I have an IPD of 68 so I'm on setting 3, and with that I could clearly see the edges of the LCD panels. I had to use the included glass spacer but it narrowed my FOV- also the sweetspot felt really tiny, it had more godrays, the black levels were a disaster, the controllers lacked any rubber material so they the grip wasn't good in beat saber. This is clearly a headset with a lot of compromises. If they made a Quest 2 Pro with an adjustable IPD slider and Oled Panel I would buy it in an instance.

    The forced subscription to Facebook (if you are banned, you can use the headset no more) and the loss of privacy add to the price of the Quest2. Not the convenience you're claiming Thomas, you should say this. No honest review this one, sorry.

      honestly just giving users the option to use their facebook account would've been enough and merging, facebook should've a free game or something idk lol. besides no one aint doing anything crazy on facebook besides talking to their friends and family, or maybe occasional helping out strangers.
