    Mick is the man, but Keith is the Stones. Jagger would be a great frontman anywhere, but Keith gives the Stones that unique sound you don't hear anywhere else.

      +ladistar I hear Keith influence in almost every rock song made. You hear his style,whether it be country,rock,alternative. That certain sound,or hammer on or bend you hear it and you think of Keef.

    It's amazing that I'm watching this video 11 years after it was made and in that time Keith hasn't further decomposed at all. He looked 100 then and still looks 100. Hopefully he will be around for a long time. I would rather listen to a Keith Richards interview than just about anyone else in his business.

      Agreed. I was a bartender at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC back in the mid-80s and Mick came in with his family for lunch; he needed some alone time and came to my bar in the mezzanine and just hung out with me alone chatting and enjoying his Jack and Coke. A totally unpretentious 'normal' guy.

    I love this man. I could take or leave Jagger as a person, but I'm solid on him singing the songs at least. Keith, on the other hand is the man to hang with - and garden with. I'm okay with the neighbors stealing the crops. I'm not a consumer myself. The point is, Keith seems like a good chum.

      Well if the lead is not confident the rest of the band fails. It's like a team look at football players the lead is like the quarterback sure they get more glory and attention but if the rest of the team wants to win a championship they just accept that.

    • @AnnaLVajda
      @AnnaLVajda 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      The majority of the attention is on the lead singer so why would you want to injure their self esteem that is like biting the hand that feeds you. It's a luxury for some of the other musicians they can be more or less flamboyant if they want for a frontman it's the expectation every night consistently. If Charlie Watts wants to just relax and keep the beat no stage antics no one minds it's an easier job in many ways.

    In the Webster dictionary for the word cool, they should just put a pic of Keef,In an interview Charlie said Keith had so much gravity that people would hang around him for 15 minutes and become heroin addicts, it was ridiculous. They all wanted to be him, I always said Keith never stops being Keith,24/7 365 he lives up to the image, and that is a very hard thing to do. Keith has chain smoked,drank ,shot up you name it and he's still going, Longevity has to be genetic, His mom was in her 90's last time I heard she may have passed by now, but it's all in the genes.I saw them last July 2015 and they never played better, I have seen them 8 times maybe 9 and I have always compared them live to get yer ya ya's out and they came up short, mostly because of Mick Taylor missing, but last July they could be compared to Ya ya's they wern't just making their way through the songs, they were feeling it, and you could just tell, their rendition of moonlight mile was amazing! it was the best I've ever seen them. I'm glad I went. One day he's gonna be gone, that will be a very sad day. but look at all he has left the world. That will live long after we are all gone. Great band No gimmicks, no make up just guitars drums and bass in your face, It's only Rock n roll but I like it.

Both Keith and Jagger can be rather full of themselves, but Keith seems like someone who stays somewhat more planted. Jagger obviously wrote the lyrics to Midnight Rambler. Keith, who is the greatest, and whom I love, is exaggerating if he is implying he wrote Midnight Rambler for Mick. Please. Mick has even said elsewhere that the song was written by them both, and it’s obvious.

    • @Mirabella76
      @Mirabella76 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@geoycs exactly. They wrote it together on holidays in Italy. I once heard Keith saying he wrote Sympathy For The Devil. Everyone knows it was Mick's song, words and melody and Keith just suggested to try it as a samba, among other takes the band did for this song. Now he says he wrote Midnight Rambler for Mick. Amazing.

    Maybe, therefore attempting to copy Keith is a bad idea (even if copying is considered the greatest form of flattery) a frustrating attempt in futility trying to copy masterpieces. That is why they are masterpieces. Keith is a golden eyed living legend, and when he lays it down, it is his alone. He has lovable dig-able mojo, THE REAL KIND. Looking at the Stones, his sound provoked amazing creativity from one of the most seriously acclaimed and beloved bands in the world. (works for me)

    What an interesting dude. I wish I could have seen them, or see them if they ever tour again. I had chance on the Steel Wheels tour in Indy, but it was sold out and street price for a decent seat was over $400. That was bottom end, and the better seats were going for $1200 or more. Same with the Pink Floyd this year. Wish I had the extra dough.

    Founder and boss of the stones was Ian Stewart-Period. All the stones say it, Jones did too. Even keef recalls in his book going to rehearse for Ian Stewart to get into the band that became The Rolling Stones. Ian Stewarts sudden early death hit them all hard. He was always there, in the back playing, he was the "Unknown Stone". Saw them the other night, true Legends and ICONS. All respect to them. Charlie Watts was his usual, engine driving backbone of the group. Wont be another like them.
