It's really just insane how far Taemin's vocal has come. Pitch, technique, emotion, everything went from zero to ninety (I give a ninety because Taemin wants room for improvement).

Let me tell you all one thing - even if Taemin wouldn’t dance to a single song and his concert consisted of ballads only, I would still come to listen to his beautiful, soulful, sensual, angel like voice! I don’t care what anyone says, for me he’s my most favorite voice in SHINee (although I love them all) and in the whole world! I hope he will sing on stage until he’s 40 or 50 years old and I swear I will come to his every concert if I’m still alive...

daysjours Yup, favorite in SHINee, above the legendary Jonghyun :) Of course I love and respect them all, they are all super talented and their voices are beautiful and unique. But, like you say, it’s all subjective, it’s a question of preference... Objectively speaking both Onew and Jjong have better voices than Taemin, perhaps stronger by nature, with wider range, objectively speaking... Perhaps they are better trained, or surely were better trained, especially at the beginning. But subjectively, when I first listened to SHINee I had slight problem with their voices. I needed time to get used to them, especially to Onew. His timbre was to me very specific, maybe too bright...? With Jjong it wasn’t easy too. Sometimes he sounded absolutely gorgeous, but sometimes, when he sang with his little mannerism it was a bit...too much...? Anyway, I needed some time to get used to their way of singing and fully love it. Whereas with Taemin it automatically clicked for me (I started listening to him since Move album, so I only knew his solo work at that time). Everything he was doing vocally - his timbre, he’s phrasing, the way he was mixing soft and sensual with stronger singing it all made a perfect sense and stayed in perfect harmony with his emotions. Actually I think it’s the way he portrays emotions through his singing that I find so super genuine and thus super moving. Oh, I don’t want to make this explanation too long. Everything I said is my own experience with their music and my own preference. I understand that someone may think and feel differently and I respect that. But to me Taemin is and always will be my favorite vocalist and artist :)

@ daysjours - I am a new fan of Taemin’s and of SHINee - so I didn’t hear Jonghyun’s singing until he had passed away . The first concert I watched was the tribute concert to Jonghyun

It doesn't matter how much time has passed, I will always be in awe of how much Taemin has grown as an artist and human being. His brothers and shawols are all so proud of him.
Taemin never thought about singing that much, but you know as all members in SHINee are vocally so good, he gave his best, he practiced a lot, I can't even think how many vocal lessons he must have taken, and you all can agree that Taemin's voice while singing is the closest to Jjong out of all SHINee members, probably cause he took a lot of help from Jjong, and as Jjong knew how much hard Taemin worked, he was always there for the maknae whenever he was needed💎💎💎💎💎

I feel like Taemin's voice really suits this song. I don't understand the words but his voice seems to convey the emotion of longing for someone, of thinking about that someone.
Uri Taeminie has grown up so well. I remember him as a boy with that bowl haircut but now he is a great dancer AND singer with exceptional works. Trully an artist..

Once I heard that a musician said that his voice is monotone, but I can’t agree even a bit. I love it when the voice of a singer is rising and vibrating, but TAEMIN has this soft and gentle voice which is special for him. I prefer his slow songs more tbh *-*
@@ayt.u.7433 I don't agree at all that his voice is monotone. What voice he uses in a song depends on what the song needed and the meaning or overall feel it's trying to convey to the listener. I don't think Taemin will have these many dedicated fans, some are musicians and artists themselves, if his voice is just monotone. I equate Taemin's artistry with the best in the world and I consider only a few as best.
Lori로리 exactly! When I was younger I was a fan of Japan, and I didn’t liked Koop at all, cuz for me it was just to loud and noisy. But after few years I gave kpop a second chance and I found Taemin. I was so amazed. I’m very picky about music, but his voice is so good. No one can deny that he is very very hardworking. He left always a room to improve and even if his voice isn’t as special as Whitney Houston’s I appreciate that he is hardworking for his career and down to earth. I think that’s what makes his fans/supporters so special. Please watch the video from him where he describes the moves of WANT 😂 it’s so funny
@@ayt.u.7433 As for me, I knew of Kpop since 10 years ago. A friend was always making me watch videos of different artists and groups. I appreciated some of the songs but no one really grabbed my attention. Not until I saw Taemin through a reaction video last year. Afterwards I binge watched his MVs and live performances. I've never been into dancing that much. I prefer ballads and the few artists that I truly admire are all singer-songwriters, technically Taemin is also one, but he is focused more on dance tracks and performing beautiful choreography. But the more I watch videos of him and read comments, the more I learned of his many talents. Plus his personality is gold. He deserves all the praises he received from fans, his peers, and from the music industry.
